Given the very small percentage of trans people I would think the common sense thing to do would be not allowing him to play on a girls softball team. Why punish the vast majority? I don't think disallowing him from playing is inhumane. His condition is unfortunate but there still needs to be reasonable decisions made here. If he wants to play let him play against the boys.

either way, as someone who's spent many years playing in competitive coed softball leagues, the teams that play more than the minimum amount of women are never winning any games unless they face another team which plays more than the min quota
you'll regularly get women who played D1 on full scholarships in these leagues and they are easily the worst player on a team of guys who stopped playing baseball at little league
the difference is amazing and the team construction completely revolves around finding women who aren't complete liabilities and then just plucking men at random to fill out the rest of the roster because

also recently went on a few dates with a former d1 swimmer (she now does distance swimming and has a few records for some locations) and a big reason we stopped dating is that she actually did leave the country and took a job abroad because she hates trump so much - so i was very naturally curious what her thoughts were on lia thomas and she went into a very long speech about how unfair it was and how women have fought so hard to get sports and then get scholarships for them and now this could take it all away and set everything back to the 1940s
