The murder of Charlie Kirk
Can we all admit that the majority of extremism is coming from the left over the last handful of years?

Do you think if there were no more DEI / AA hires in the airline industry, people like Kirk would no longer be nervous when they had a black female airline pilot?
President Obama wasn't elected through those processes, but many Republicans still showed a lot of racism towards him.
Conversely, Clarence Thomas has had one of the highest power government positions in the country for the last 35 years, while getting no criticism from the right. But he is the most prominent DEI hire in history. He came from a poor family, was admitted to college and law school through affirmative action programs, and he never would have been appointed or confirmed to the Supreme Court had he not been black.
He was nominated specifically to fill the "black seat" in the court after the death of Thurgood Marshall, despite having no particularly outstanding performance prior to his nomination.
Then he faced criticism for past sexual harassment complaints and played the race card by calling the legitimate inquiry a "high tech lynching". After that, some Democrats in the Senate would have felt terrible voting against his confirmation, and he was confirmed by the second smallest margin in history.

I think that Kirk could’ve made better comments, but bottom line there is simply not enough evidence to call him a racist for the reasons already provided. Yes it does matter that he traveled the country for two years with a black woman in Candace Owens staying in the same hotels. It does matter that he championed a meritocracy. I think that some people are simply nitpicking some of his comments, including taking them out of context or outright fabricating them. But really nitpicking them and avoiding the big picture that there needs to be sufficient evidence to call somebody a racist… like they need to be a segregationist. They need to say you know what I’m not gonna hire somebody based on their race. Now to the radical left wing that might sound weird but then again that’s why the left-wing loses in elections these days that’s why people despise them. Both black and white people in large part have left the Democrat party because of culture wars and stupid DEI stuff. Nobody thought Trump would win the 2024 popular vote. But he did.
People can say that Trump engaged in DEI with his Supreme Court pic. I believe he said he will guarantee it to be a woman….. he didn’t need to do that. And to your point about the Clarence Thomas thing that’s an issue too.
Now you can look at this thread and the knee jerk reaction and miserable rude attitude some left-wingers have to people who say wait a minute no Charlie Kirk did not make racist comments. That’s sort of wokeism is a big problem for the left-wing.

What do you mean when you say "people like Kirk"? You know what, I'll put myself in that category for arguments' sake. I'm a white male that opposes DEI/AA hires. I wouldn't be nervous anymore. I can't speak for Charlie Kirk. Unfortunately, neither can he. He was eliminated for his beliefs and words.
Let's say he agreed with me and publicly said the same thing I did. It wouldn't matter anyway, because the left would just say he's lying. So what good does this little thought experiment do? None.
But really nitpicking them and avoiding the big picture that there needs to be sufficient evidence to call somebody a racist… like they need to be a segregationist.
I don't know if white supremacists are necessarily segregationists but white supremacy is the most accepted definition of racism in the us. So the saying or implying that blacks are inferior to whites is definitely racism or justification to call someone a racist.
I don't know if Kirk is a racist or not but he unquestionably says racially degrading things. And while I'm sure his defenders will say that wasn't his intention, what they can't say is that he has any reason at all for saying it. I'm familiar enough with the issue to know that there aren't any studies out there showing negative financial or economic impact for either individuals or society.
So why even bring the issue up? Literally the only impact he can claim from all this is that some white guy doesn't have a degree from Harvard hanging on his wall and some black girl does. That's it aside from the Ivies offering a pipeline into more prestigious but not necessarily better paying jobs. whaaa. It's just a prestige deal for a small group of elite academics.
So again, why even bring the issue up if you know some people are going to see at least denigrating when he doesn't have to? And why the need to defend what he's saying over a piece of paper?
You mean elementary schools banning books that show graphic depictions of kids having sex? Cancel culture is way way more of an issue on the left wing. I mean it is so blatantly obvious. You have this whole insane “white privilege” idea. Yeah like a white homeless person is privileged. You have the BLM riots, DEI, renaming sports teams to suit the agenda of some wea

Facepalm .
You don’t need DEI to make bad hiring .
So if that happens under DEI, it wouldn’t change a damn thing .
Bad hiring gets done everyday, always have, that is why people get fired and still do .

I said "people like Kirk" because he's no longer with us to change his mind.
I meant people who, like him, feel nervous when they fly with a black pilot. Sounds like you got the gist.
I don't think you are lying, but I doubt Kirk would feel better. He said “Black women do not have the brain processing power to be taken seriously.” During a discussion about Supreme Court justice Jackson, who graduated with honors from Harvard undergraduate and Harvard law schools. Kirk dropped out of school after one semester of community college.
Have they arrested the room mate yet? He/she was obviously involved.
So if physicians are so terrible at statistics , why would our prior be that lawyers, even when coming from the best institutions, are instead decent with numbers?
Lawyers are not decent with numbers, even very good ones. If they were, OJ would be in jail.

Besides, DEI can be either good or bad. It’s not universal that DEI means any type of affirmative action. It can also mean choosing the best person regardless of race, gender, religion, age, disability, sex, by taking only into account tangible metrics of performance.
I just think that announcements of trying to appoint someone based on how well they tick some boxes cheapens the weight of their appointment. I don’t think it sends the right message to the public by portraying a certain demographic as being “due”. I for one think some people really were overlooked because of some demographic group they were in and that is — as Luciom would put it — a moral travesty if you care about competence in positions of power.
And it does end up being true if people don’t use DEI practices, that doesn’t mean that they won’t end up choosing incompetence for some kind of political, economic, social, or personal benefit.
If you look at the Ken Klip article I posted, there are at least some people saying that the FBI is looking at a potential criminal conspiracy and fleshing out the details of that. Whether or not you believe that’s credible, if true they might be trying to turn the roommate state witness.
I don’t want to bring attention to a group that may be innocent, but I did see a conspiracy theory about an LGBT group in Utah. As far as I saw, literally nothing was substantiated so I see no reason to even talk about it. But if more evidence comes out it may be about them or some other group they are trying to tie to this crime, whether it’s a frame job or not.

That makes how they're treating the roommate make more sense. They say they have a lot of radicalization material but what they consider radical who knows. But if the roommate was connected to some group, that might be what they're doing.
Don't know why that would be obvious. The story from law enforcement (can't remember if it was from the FBI or local police) is that the roommate didn't know about it until after it happened and is being cooperative with authorities doing the investigation.

I think police have a lot of leeway in terms of how they represent an investigation to the press while their investigation is ongoing. I wouldn’t assume that just because they say they cleared the roommate that they actually did. They oftentimes withhold information from the press that they have deemed material to the investigation, including what direction they believe the investigation is going and who they believe may be involved.
And if you really think about it, it could never be wrong to say that someone is being treated as innocent of a crime. They literally will be legally presumed innocent until they either plead guilty or are found guilty.
They didn't say the roommate was cleared, but was apparently questioned and was being cooperative. Don't know why they would lie about that. They should be much more likely to lie the other way and try to pin it on the trans person.
Cross posted from the ****ing Democratic ****ing Party thread. I can't remember the last time I was this personally pissed off at a large group of politicians. Maybe Black Friday 2011.
Unbelievable. ****ing pussy Chuck Schumer and every other Democratic Senator roll over and play dead while Hitler rises to power. There is no hope for 2026 folks, unless every Democratic Senator is booted and replaced with people who don't want to kiss the asses of two ignorant spewers of hate (one dead, one still hanging on)
By complete coincidence (honestly), this just came up in my YouTube feed. Looks like several versions of the song have been trending. I've no idea why.
We're told that after the war
The Nazis vanished without a trace
But battalions of fascists
Still dream of a master race
The history books they tell
Of their defeat at '45
But they all came out of the woodwork
On the day the Nazi died
They say the prisoner at Spandau
Was a symbol of defeat
Whilst Hess remained imprisoned
And the fascists, they were beat
So the promise of an Aryan world
Would never materialize
So why did they all come out of the woodwork
On the day the Nazi died
The world is riddled with maggots
The maggots are getting fat
They're making a tasty meal of all
The bosses and bureaucrats
They're taking over the boardrooms
And they're fat and full of pride
And they all came out of the woodwork
On the day the Nazi died
So if you meet with these historians
I'll tell you what to say
Tell them that the Nazis
Never really went away
They're out there burning houses down
And peddling racist lies
And we'll never rest again
Until every Nazi dies
Spoiler
Don't Rest!
You guys are losing the culture war lol, it's somewhat hilarious to watch the out of touch boomers in this thread. Making contact with this thread on this server is almost like contacting a lost tribe, with no means of modern communication. I almost pity them in a way.
I don't think many here were boomers. My parents were.
But the people representing the Democratic Party in the senate are boomers, and they're apparently more interest in keeping themselves rich than in taking a risk to save democracy.
At least governor Newsom of California has been mockimg Trump and trying to make sure he doesn't win the House through the new scheme of midterm redistricting.
I hope it works and that he doesn't turn Pussy too. He needs to publicly embarrass every Democrat in he senate and foment rebellion against the ancient democratic establishment who are incompetent.
If everything goes perfectly, he can become President, AOC can be the new speaker of the house. Any extra money from the prop 50 advertising campaign can be used to get James Talarico elected senate in Texas and then demand that he becomes the democratic leader (hopefully majority leader). These three forceful young democrats can convince, cajole, or twist their arms into doing the right thing, or else they will be primaried and beaten by a younger candidate who doesn't have as much to lose.
We're going to need a VP and a house whip as well, as even AOC can't intimidate 24 0 or so representatives into doing the right thing.
I hope we can get this happening by 2028. AOC is already learning how to manipulate other house members and Talarico is getting ready to run GOP Sen. John Cornyn, having announced his campaign a day after the death of kirk. Talarico is thy real thing. He's an student of evangelical Christianity and even has his own congregation, but he talks like a real, Christian who has actually had the Bible. He does not want glory or wealth, he wants to feed the poor, heal the sick, and redeem the sinners. He is absolutely who Jesus would vote for. But he respects other religions and avec respects atheists like me.
He seems pretty mild mannered though, so after he is made majority leader we're going to need a Senate whip as well. Someone intimidating, like Fetterman of he hadn't just given up on the party. And everyone needs to be in the same page on every issue.. You don't show up for an important vote, you get the smallest office in the most mildewed corner of the oldest office - the one that's a long walk from the capital.
I'm going to need some help with the whips, but I think I have s good structure here which can make the Democrats stick together and successfully fight against Trump m

Boomer checking in. Yep, we are losing. We have had a history of presidents that, although you disagree with many things they did, respected the office of the presidency and in their minds tried at least attempted to do what was right. We replaced that with a criminal conman pedophile that cares about absolutely nothing but himself. And, we have a history of respecting the principles on which this country was founded, as outlined by the constitution. We are in the process of shredding all of that.
Yep, we are losing. No doubt.

Kimmel used to be funny.
Colbert used t be funny.
Both shows are losing $$$. I wonder why???
For the record. The reasons they have been fired had absolutely nothing to do with ratings or the amount of money their shows were making. Don't even try to suggest that. They were fired because our fascist dictator wannabe sent his sycophants to threaten the ceos of the broadcasting companies because that same fascist dictator wannabe wants to crush any sort of speech that he doesn't like.
So, don't even go there with this nonsense.
when those people will publish online videos of comedy with no executive action against them, will the psychotic crazies whining currently admit there is no violation of the 1a, or will they disregard the fact that those people are actually allowed to speak?
