The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
Well, realistically he is one of most quoted posters in recent days, so it would seem his opinions are actually the ones that matter the most. If you had added a social media algorithm to the mix, the rest of us would likely have been all but invisible.
Welcome to why 2025 looks the way it does.
the irony is although i disagree with pretty much everything mon posts, he at least puts forward his thoughts and ideas while that guy posting that attack never does anything other than attack people because he's just a worthless loser happy to come here to insult others and yet too cowardly to put forward his own opposing views
do not understand why he isn't banned, just look at his post history he contributes nothing but attacks, trolly at least tries to do it in a fun way

I still say he's a bot.
Republicans circle the wagons so that they can protect the thing in the center of the circle, no matter how horrible that thing is.
Democrats circle the wagons because it makes it easier for them to shoot at each other.
i wouldn't say this about democrats in a vacuum, but the far left has a remarkable capacity to attack itself
many paragons of leftism in trans/gay/feminist/environmental/economic circles from just a decade prior are regularly attacked by the new wave who find their predecessors who made this current generation possible were themselves highly problematic people with problematic ideologies etc
but to be fair, this is a common phenomenon in the real world whenever we see fresh new ideas flood into power
from oliver cromwell to the french revolution to nazism and communist revolutions - very few of those early pioneers survived the ensuing purges
for all the talk we did about the evils of the khmer rouge, it was not us but fellow communists of Vietnam who ended their regime with an invasion and then once they fled to exile they became US allies and we helped them retain their UN seat despite not being in control of the country anymore until 1993
Most of them don't. But teachers would tell us to work on something for 30 minutes and I would finish it in five. Sometimes I read novels, but I always seemed to lose them. Or possibly people stole them, because I never lost that Bible.
I loved looking for the dirty parts the most. My favorite was when King David saw the beautiful Bathsheba naked while bathing on her roof (yowza) and wanted to consort with her. The only problem was that she was married, and I guess even Kings don't want the bad publicity of stealing another man's wife. Luckily for David, the husband was a soldier in his army, so he just told the leaders to send him to the front lines where he was sure to get killed. Their first baby was killed as punishment (why is it always the children who get punished), but after that they lived happily ever after, along with his (at minimum) 7 other wives, and their second child became King Solomon, who eventually had 700 wives and 300 concubines. Plus he was always writing poetry and saying wise things, so I don't know how he had time to regularly schtup a thousand women, but I know one thing for sure...
Spoiler
The Bathsheba story is so tame. Give me Salome doing the dance of the seven veils in exchange for the head of John the Baptist. Far more inspirational, the subject of much fine art ♥

It's far from the worst thing that Biblical heroes do in Bible stories, it was just the one that most tickled my young adolescent fancy.
A head on a platter tends to leave me cold.
Man, this book of yours sure sounds like it has rather a lot of gratuitous sex and violence. We probably shouldn't be exposing little kids to that sort of thing. If you're not old enough to play Grand Theft Auto, you're not old enough to be reading the bible seems like a reasonable rule of thumb.

Because that's core ideology for judaico-christian-islamic (Abrahimic) traditions , especially their older roots.
Exodus 20:5
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me

The whole structure of those 3 religions is deeply evil (for me) ideology, that can make sense as a coping mechanism for population control by the elite in agrarian societies in very barren lands but not in general .
Paganesim was much more individualistic (and so Inherently more moral and good for me)
