Wisdom is often thought of as a starfish, a single organism with many points. But now imagine that you take the great pen of life and draw a circle around the tips of the starfish. You have created a wheel. But the points have not disappeared, even as the wheel rolls. They merely have been transformed into spokes, without which the wheel could not sustain the load of the wa

I've put in an undertitle request. We will see what happens
Except the verdict for repentant sinners is "Not guilty!" That kinda messes with your narrative, my friend.
Innocent is the ultimate verdict, but your faith must be stretched and tested in order to be accepted.
If you are truly innocent and saved, then you should be able to do what I said. Only those who doubt will be unable to do it.

Whoever blushes is already guilty; true innocence is ashamed of nothing and shame corrodes the very part of us that that believes we are capable of change. Change is the only constant in life and you are better off with four quarters than a hundred pennies. A penny saved is a penny earned but a penny won is sweeter. To taste the sweetness of life, you must possess the power to forget the bitterness of the past, like the backwash in an old bottle of lemonade.

Sure, the repentant sinner should in some sense be able to do that. But, since the verdict of "Not guilty" has already been made, it isn't necessary.
You're literally substituting God's mercy and grace with a man-based work.
You are substituting man's works for Christ's efficacious sacrifice on the cross at Calvary.

Wake up. Look around at this world.
Do you think the state of this world reflects God’s mercy and grace?
It's like Neo and Morpheous fighting.

I'm deeply moved, touched and made more alive for having read this. I will be meditating on this for days. Of all people, d2_e4, you were almost the last person in this Forum that I would have expected to change my life forever. Thank you!!!

The one who judges will arrive not on the last day, but the very last. And he will weigh the proof with a heavy heart but a lightness of spirit, for he will remember that he kneaded and stretched the man with a steady hand and allowed the man to rise or darken over the days of his life. And only at the final moment will the unrepentant man realize that the proof and the proofing were one and the same.
The only real religion I take part in is watching my favorite actor in the 10 Commandments each year around this time.
You have an advantage that no one in the history of humanity has had - access to me. Leverage this advantage to train your mind into believing you are destined for greatness and make a stand behind this belief when reality tries to check you back into your old view of yourself.
Build this foundation first and then you will be allowed to start seeing what I see.
One is reminded of the parable of the industrious man and the idle man.
The industrious man returned home early one afternoon, with the sun still high in the sky. Having reaped the grain, he thought to himself, "I will not waste the sun as the idle man does. The sun's light is precious, and I desire to view myself." And with that, the industrious man set himself to digging a hole. As the sun set, the idle man happened upon the hole, now as deep as a well, for the industrious man had indeed been industrious. Peering in, the idle man chided the industrious man childishly. "What are you doing in that hole, covered in sweat and dirt?," he cackled. "I desire to view myself," the industrious man replied. The idle man persisted, "And how will you do that from the dark of a deep hole?" The industrious man looked up, weary but patient, and replied, "you cannot build a tower without a foundation."
Bored of the exchange, the idle man wandered off aimlessly, whistling a tune to pass the time.
Example: A 12 year old kid vandalizes houses because he finds it fun. He does this regularly. Then, one day, when he's 14, someone vandalizes his grandma's house and destroys her garden. He knows how much she loves that garden. He sees her crying and understands her hurt and confusion. Now he feels ashamed of his past actions, and because of this, he no longer vandalizes other people's houses.
Shame is a powerful tool to control people yes, but it's definitely not the only source of change wtf.
You can just learn something and change without shame. I wasn't ashamed when i learnt that limping hu was a thing, even after years where only bad fishes limped and regs were supposed to only raise or fold from the btn hu.
I was intrigued, i tried it, and it makes sense at low depth. Change with no shame. Applies to everything you can learn.
Yeah, I know you're mocking craig, but I get the feeling a bit of truth slipped out. Maybe not.

When I was a young boy I was once spraying graffiti on the wall of an abandoned house, as young boys are wont to do, when a sage old man approached me and said words to me that I will never forget: "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, vivamus euismod portitor ante ut suscipit." I often think of that old man and live my life by his words to this very day.

I was speaking about moral growth and one's behavior. But yeah, there are other kinds of change.

Sometimes change is necessary and sometimes it is optional, and sometimes it is necessary to change the optional. For example, I change underpants every week whether I need to or not.
