I understand that I get angry, and that is truly tragic, but I, for one, will continue to think that being cool with imposing terror on 1.5 billion Muslims (or is it 2b? What's the real difference between being ok with terror campaigns against muslim civilians and terror campaigns against Americans? Or you and your family? If the difference is just their religious beliefs then that makes you a crappy person. What other difference is there?

That’s fair. In my mental model when ~75% of the population supports terrorist actions and support warring with nations that could easily wipe them out it’s hard to defend that population getting impacted by their support of said activities

Your original post did not seem limited to Yemen. Maybe that was just sloppiness. And in any case, I don't see how we can get accurate information about what people in Yemen really want.

To be clear, I have zero sympathy for the perpretators of terror attacks committed in the name of Islam. As best I can tell, the perpetrators of those attacks don't care at all about human life of any stripe.

But I just don't see any way to justify a post that expressed support for indiscriminately spreading fear and terror in a civilian religious population. If you want to say that something is necessary for security purposes and that fear and terror in a civilian population is an unavoidable consequence of a necessary security action, then make that case. But what you actually wrote is going to be very difficult to defend. It was a bad post imo and you should just abandon it rather than try to reframe it.

When did browser tell you that he thought it was acceptable to call Palestinians violent tribal savages? He may or may not have thought that something was worthy of a ban, but I'll fall off my log backwards if you can show me a post from him that expressed support for calling Palestinians (as a group) violent tribal savages.

To be clear, the forum is barely moderated at all now. I routinely see comments that very easily could be characterized as bigoted toward Jews, Muslims, Christians, transgender people, women, etc. Almost no one gets banned, and if you do, it's almost certainly because you have repeated the same insult five hundred times and have simply refused to move on.

There is no reason to be mad at coordi about this. The vast majority of the forum seemed to prefer a free-for-all. He is moderating accordingly.

I'm mostly fine either way. If the Trumpification of the forum (and I'm using that term non-ideologically) gets to a point where I am uncomfortable posting here, I'll leave.
