Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
It is this type of stunted, sophomoric, binary argument that makes people not believe you are an adult and find you morally horrific and an abomination. . As others have pointed out, no one idolizes Floyd. He is a recognized victim of police brutality and the statutes present the point in history that the us society no longer condones the use of excessive force against a ci
During the course of the year there are millions of police interactions with citizens. The vast majority are non violent interactions. I assure you the police are not out there looking to beat up or shoot people. The last thing they would want is to be caught up in any of that. Inevitably, there will be an altercation. Almost always, the altercation could have been avoided. The common denominator is a criminal with a long police record breaking the law and not listening to the police. People who think like you don't help. You think the bad guys should be able to resist with no consequences. What is "excessive force"? When does it become "excessive force"? How many times does the cop need to tell the perp to step back or put down their gun or stop fighting back?
You're worried that looking at a statue is bowing down and serving it? I guess if the consequence of being wrong is going to hell, better safe than sorry. The Orthodox Jews call that "building fences" (even without the going to hell part)
There are no consequences if you don't believe in this nonsense.
We have already established that you are the second biggest POS here and your opinions are of no importance. Thanks for the input, troll.
Well, realistically he is one of most quoted posters in recent days, so it would seem his opinions are actually the ones that matter the most. If you had added a social media algorithm to the mix, the rest of us would likely have been all but invisible.
Welcome to why 2025 looks the way it does.
I legit don't know what this image means in the context of your comment or whether you are insulting or praising me.
I'm not offended. I'm just confused.
It's a meme used to say "if this had happened, or if that hadn't happened, the world would be utopic" basically.
I was just saying that if people like you had been at the helm of the woke movement things would have gone a lot better for the world
That this would ever even cross a creator's mind is enough to make me never consider worshiping that creator. It's a purely evil concept and I can't believe Christians worship something like that.
Fascinating that you can say with such assurance what would or wouldn't ever cross the mind of the Creator. When did a creator reveal this to you?
Edit: Ignore the answer above. I misread your post, sorry. (Chillrob pointed out that I misread your post)
The right just hate the idea of statues of the victims of police brutality, especially if they're black. That's really all there is to it.
After so many statues have been torn down over the years, mostly after it was shown that the honoree or his cause was not deserving of praise, I came to the conclusion that it was ridiculous to make statues of anyone.
No one should be put on a pedestal, figuratively or literally. It's also about time that we stopped naming schools, streets, etc. after people.
For each flawed person who is honored, it creates further divisions in society.
Do you not take God's commandments seriously? Shouldn't you have a strong opinion on whether or not it's okay to make statues?
Yes, I take God's commandments seriously. Do you?
I see no reason why I "should" have a strong opinion on whether or not it's okay to make statues. If I was a pastor and one of my congregants asked me if I thought it was wrong for him to have a statue on his lawn, I would certainly study the issue in more depth. Other than that, I see no reason to think about it one way or another.

He wasn't saying that thought would never come to a creator, but that if it did, he would not worship such a being.
I agree with that, but I go even further. Any being who would deliberately create this world full of evil (particularly including the God of the Bible) is so horrible that I would sooner burn in hell than worship such a being.

The world was not created full of evil. The world was created "very good", but with the potential for evil. Evil went from being merely possible to actual when Adam and Eve rebelled against God.
The Good News is that eternal joy is possible for all, and most certainly actual for all who trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

But even according to the Bible, all Adam and Eve did wrong was eating a piece of fruit, which hardly seems worthy of severe punishment for them and all their descendants.
Plus, God even lied to them about the nature of the fruit, saying that it would kill them.
The serpent was actually the honest one (at least in part), saying that the fruit was both delicious and would provide knowledge. The only part I would say he lied about was that it would make them "like God".

All sin stems from disobeying God.

It did kill them. Or, more precisely, the process of death began immediately after their act of disobedience. Before Adam and Eve sinned, they were immortal.

Excellent observation. The most effective lies are often the ones mixed with truth.
I've heard that rat poison is something like 99% corn meal and 1% poison.
Nah, eating the fruit didn't kill them. God deliberately killed them.
Just curious, do you think that Adam and Eve are in hell?

Sure, I agree. But that isn’t what’s informing the opinions of the mongidigs of the world.
No.
I see no reason why I "should" have a strong opinion on whether or not it's okay to make statues.
Because it's God's commandment and you allegedly follow them? Why are you so evasive here, I'm asking you incredibly simple questions?

My ego would like to think you are right, but I have grave doubts.
