I play 1 d4 with the intention of playing a gambit:

1 d4 d5 2 e4!

1 d4 f5 2 e4!

1 d4 Nf6 2 g4!

1 d4 e6 2 e4 d5 3 c4!

I love how you award your own bad moves exclamation marks.

I love how you award your own bad moves exclamation marks.

Gambiteers always over-estimate the strength of their openings.

I'm sure it won't surprise you that another favorite of mine is 1 g4!!

I think you mean g4?? that SF assesses as -1.3. Not surprised at all. I used to play a lot against a friend who always opened with the Grob (or Borg). He never did reach his target of 200 BCF (~2200 Elo) and peaked at about 150 iirc. That opening has only surprise value and won't hack it against strong players imo.

Point well taken except for 1 d4 f5 2 e4 which is almost certainly not bad.

I, of course , agree with your assessment.

I play this stuff online in blitz and rapid.

(Which anyone can watch me play on my Twitch channel....but you'll have to 'guess' the name of my channel 😀)

Dogs really live life to the fullest. Best day ever, every day.

We are traveling and he’s in boarding too. Literally just a normal day for him

i've always seen dogs as more of a burden than a joy

if i lived a sedentary, rural lifestyle i'd be onboard with a dog

but with all my time commitments and travel, it's just too much hassle

way too many friends nope out on plans or leave early because "we haven't walked our dog in 12 hours" - feels like a tether

cats though, cats are awesome

i mean how can you not want this as a work from home companion

we can leave the house for several days, just leave out some food and water and he's fine and unaffected

Well yeah, I have two felines and cats are definitely cool. However, I do not think they are always living their best life, lol. Somedays they seem annoyed by existence in general.

Cats are just trouble makers. That's all there is to it.

oh yeah, cats are constantly annoyed and upset

but... they are still neat companions are super soft and fluffy

dogs are obviously way happier

but as someone who's had both - the dogs are without a doubt major burdens at times and i've never felt that way about cats

Who would ever want to watch some 1700 patzer play the Grob in blitz games?!? Especially when they're not even a good-looking woman?

If Lagtight were to stream himself approaching women at a bar in an attempt to lose that v-card, now THAT would be entertainment.

hi bigeasykarl, came back sooner than i thought you would

I did perm Karl

I love both dogs and cats. But dogs are far more likely to cause trouble than cats.

Good question. Maybe I should poll my 271 followers to find out.

Can't argue with that.

I could try my favorite Calvinist pickup line: "Your name must be Grace, because I find you irresistible!"

Have you never been in a relationship laggy? I find that very sad.

I've never been in a relationship. I'm seldom saddened by that fact, fortunately.

He's in a very committed relationship with the big man in the sky, ldo.

Quite so!

Infinitely better than a "till death do us part" relationship.

You can have both, you know.

Maybe if the dogs are as poorly trained as a certain poster's.
