He selected the Trooper name after the heavy metal song Trooper. I think it was by Black Sabbath

Iron Maiden, Trooper's favorite band.

Welcome to the adventures of the Wack Pack.

I originally said casino nomad could be a member of the wack pack when he came on the scene except he was gainfully employed at a remote corporate job. However, it appears in later vlogs that his job is a Rice-like exaggeration and his looney crap obsession certainly gives him membership status

I guess I'm the real ****** for even posting in the pman thread in good faith.

By all accounts, I'm a f*cking loser just the same. Working dead end service jobs.

But I have the good sense to not publicize this to the world with delusions of...whatever the hell they're doing.

Rice et all is one thing. But that craps guy? JFC.

Bleach my ****ing eyes.

yep. im also delusional but no way near as crazy as these guys are.

Don't get me wrong when I mentioned employment and the wack pack. We are all in the same boat to some extent in the daily life struggles of making ends meet.

But the wack pack is special, I mentioned casino nomad because having a corporate job would mean he has some type of employable skills, the ability to conform to normal real world expectations, and at the very least, being able to consistently show up and perform some type of activity to certain standards.

But it seems, much like a crackhead trying to hold down a job, for casino nomad, having a house and a more normal job would take money and time away from his craps addiction.

With Pman, he actually made a year-in-review vlog patting himself on the back for all his life accomplishments, when he is actually a 30-something whose only real accomplishment is sponging off his parents all his life and is too lazy to even attempt to support himself.

Rice, armed with an Ivy League education and a law degree has reached his penultimate potential, a $12 an hour job where he doesn't have to do much and gets free food in the employee dining room. Anyone aspiring to more is a sucker.

Trooper has a work ethic, but is incapable of taking advice or guidance, so all his business ventures eventually fail since he has no education or training, and he already knows everything so he refuses to learn. He actually is a really good poker dealer, but since that would involve "working for the man", he refuses to do that.

They are all followers of their patron saint, Tony BigCharles, who due to mental issues is totally unemployable, and manages to survive by gambling, advantage play, casino comps, and living frugally to the best of his handicapped ability.

If you ask any of them, they are all living their best life, and anyone doing anything differently is a sucker and a fool. They are all proud to broadcast their shenanigans to the world.

Pman has a great origin story for his self given nickname.

Pman is short for Pokermaniac which is hilariously ironic since he hardly plays poker. It's like naming an offensive lineman, Tiny.

Well,to be honest i dont know how much of a loser people that work "dead end service jobs" are compared to the Whack Pack crew.

Honest work and effort to pay the bills or doing what you need to do is something to respect.

Instead of pretending to be a 1/2 pro while doing homeless weekends sleeping in your car to survive,or eating sardineslurry dog food for lunch. Or manipulate stats to scam for staking deals lying about being a pro pokerplayer,or staying home getting stoned and playing videogames for years doing nothing with your life.

I have a feeling that all the members of the wack pack have great hilarious origin stories. I know that Rice and Casino Nomad both do. Would love to know TBC's origin story, I'm guessing it would be an absolute doozy.

Somehow TBC crossed the border from Canada to the USA without drivers license nor ID card.

ELD reports that he is in Scottsdale and presented himself to a corn dog restaurant eating challenge for free corn dogs.

However the restaurant sized ELD up and backpedaled and somehow disqualified ELD from the eating challenge using fraudulent rubric.

ELD admits the entire purpose of the trip was to eat 20 corn dogs for the eating challenge and ELD was unfairly denied.

ELD goes to a prisoner of war site in Scottsdale.

ELD states he is close to Talking Stick casino.

ELD then goes to a military vehicle parking lot.

ELD calculates the cubic feet of dirt.

LMAO that Rice got denied for the food challenge, when all this fat prick cheapskate was going for where gorging free food. He got so annoyed too when he didnt got the free food, top notch comedy and entertainment.

He is a fan of Beardmeetsfood, that is everything Rice isnt.Beard have millions of subs and he is doing competitive eating for content purposes and challenging himself, not because he is a lol cheapskate hunting free food.Last but not least Beard is usually jacked and ripped working out,not a lazy fat slob like Rice.

Today's Rice Vlog was interesting. In regard to the eating challenge, it wasn't quite clear which party breached the rubric. Did Rice breach by not providing timely notice of intent to eat 21 corn dogs? Or did the establishment change the rubric last minute to prevent rice from attempting the feat? Either way, a disappointment both for vlogger and viewer.

The rest of the video was also very interesting. I could probably divide my thoughts on the remainder into a week's worth of separate posts, and maybe I will.

“They give you 60 minutes which is too much. I could do it in about 16.” -El D

The sewer systems of Scottsdale are breathing a sigh of relief tonight over our fearless hero getting denied a chance at food eating challenge glory.

If a restaurant has a 20 corn dog challenge then it ought to always have on stock 20 corn dogs. The website states they are "Foster Farms" corn dogs so they can easily keep hundreds of them in the freezer and just microwave them whenever they need to. Further research states that Costco sells 28 Foster Farms corn dogs for $18. So Trooper can buy a package and cook 20 for ELD.

Feel like there’s a separate equally wack group that includes ppl like Jaman, LynneJi, Aero innovations that are clearly better at poker than the wack pack but equally as cringy but in a care way too much about what ppl think, they curate their vlogs to NEVER make themselves look bad.

Jaman, wack pack? Granted I haven't watched his vlog in a while, but IRL he's one of the best dudes you could hope to meet.

😃 That made me chuckle

I agree, haven't watched Jaman's vlog in a bit, but he is a pretty normal dude with a good job, who spends time with his daughter and is a solid poker player.

Edit: Jaman has over twice the amount of subscribers than Pooper, even with having a full time job and a child. Yet another vlogger who easily passed Troop by doing basic things that Trooper refuses to do. While being gainfully employeed, having a retirement plan, health insurance, and a skill set outside of poker.

by IQofTwoPlusTwo

Trooper has a work ethic ... "working for the man", he refuses to do that.

I am of the camp that Trooper does not have a work ethic.

What Trooper does is put in a large amount of hours, so he does not have to work, "for the man".

If Trooper could make a guaranteed $30/hr working for the man, or put in a massive amount of hours, dicking around, pretending to work, he'd do the latter every time.

Trooper's 'job' is to pretend he is working, so Lady Trooper will support him.

How's that song lyric go?

If you ever get annoyed, look at me, I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day.

That is Trooper all the way.

Bleach my ****ing eyes.

I’ve worked dead end jobs multiple times when I tried poker and failed. It’s humbling, but in the evenings I sure as hell had motivation to keep improving at poker so I wouldn’t have to do them long. Year 13 now of being pro for me.

I tried posting some honesty in Pman’s thread too, but he gets really defensive or ignores the post (or gets a mod to delete it).

He’s been told his whole life that he’s special, that he can do anything he wants, and I’m guessing his crypto windfall & work tournament bink made him think he actually was.

Like the old expression, “opportunity is missed because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work”

Add in him thinking he’s got some amazing mindset (he doesn’t, it’s honestly probably extremely weak tbh) and it 100% makes sense that he is where he is in life.

by JoseJohnnyJimJack

I think if it was from a non-alcohol incident, he would've answered the early numerous vlog questions about it, but he always ignored those questions about his scar, like if it was something he didn't want to revisit. He selected the Trooper name after the heavy metal song Trooper. I think it was by Black Sabbath. Why didnt Trooper invite El D to eat at the celebration dinner? W

If it came from his dad hitting him, he’d also not answer I think.

I think years ago he said he just never saw the point of alcohol and never even tried it. To me that tracks as dad drunkenly beat him and the family.

Absent father households correlate with violent behaviour (or in Trooper’s case, acting tough on camera).

Just my take.

My first reply in Pman's thread (i spent hours reading the whole thing, don't ask me why, I guess I'm a massochist) was criticizing his toxicly positive mindset. He seemed receptive to my take at first. But then it was off to the next thing for him I guess. In my honest opinion, surrounding yourself with critical people is massively under rated. Especially if you want to get better at something.

But what do I know

I think there’s a place for positivity, but it has to be contextualized. All the super overweight people these days use body positivity, pretending they’re fine with looking that way, is a similar example.

Poker is not for everyone. I’ve watched more skilled players than me not be able to make it in poker because of a million reasons. Tilt, can’t multi table enough, can’t/won’t pay for studying or figure out their blind spots etc. All of them tried 10x harder than Pman.

It really is hard way to make an easy living. Personally, I know I would have higher upside if I went the corporate route, and the freedom is nice. But guys like Pman see poker as a shortcut to the easy life. I wonder how many more years he’ll waste before he throws in the towel. He has 0% chance of making it.

He should get a job of course, and if he wants to grind on the side do that.

Personally I find it hard to work normal jobs with normal people and then grind in my off hours. It's hard splitting my brain between poker and anything else. My best times were during covid when I was able to fully immerse myself in the game and study without distraction. Having nothing but poker friends surrounding you is probably the best thing you can do for your mindset if you really want to make it, but that's a luxury I can't afford myself.

I just had a vision of TBC being an actual member of the whack pack on the stern show in it's heyday... Post-jackie, with Sal the Stockbroker, richard, etc

TBC would've been perfect b/c he looks whacky, is a certified loon, but has a tiny smidgen of self-awareness and cunning.

Imagine the vileness they could coax out of him. Antisemitic, pro-semetic, various bigotries... and then they could send him on a date with Wendy the R*****.

HOURS of potential material. Too bad stern has sucked for a long time now

he will never throw in a towel, he'll need his dad to throw the towel in for him

as long as he gets to housesit his dad's condo in Vegas with all expenses paid they can both pretend he's a poker pro

he has nothing but time and chooses to waste 100% of it

Rice calculates cubic feet of soil dug from a 178 ft tunnel in today's vlog. He does seem good at math, and I believe he got some sort of accounting certificate betwen college and law school. I don't understand why he just didn't become a self-employed accountant, which would give him enough free time to do other things like travel and play poker, since he wouldn't need too many clients to support his excessively frugal lifestyle.
