I think it's untrue. If it were true then it would probably apply to me as well as we usually have very similar view on those issues.

Luciom was driving most of the controversial content so there isn't nearly as much to mod anymore, but I've been happy with how the topics have kept going without him

FWIW, Luciom was an actual Italian right wing zealot, not some imposter. That was easy to confirm on Google even before he sent me a copy of his Italian ID card in an effort to prove to someone else that he was Italian.

Now now, no he wasn't, he was a "libertarian"...who just happened to zealously espouse very right wing views.

If nothing else, Luciom's presence highlighted how many posters here don't know what "troll" means.

Yeah shadow banning is for places like Twitter or Youtube where you have a home page and might interact with whatever shows up there. But that's not how people use this site. And even if 2+2 searches come up way lower on search engine results I think that's just algorithms working correctly. Niche message boards as a category are way less popular than they were 15 years ago. A while back I was helping my dad convert his cabin to fully solar with battery backup and it was surprisingly hard to just google questions on PLC/PCB trouble shooting/installation and find a place where people who do that kind of stuff regularly hang out to ask questions to.
The forum has had hundreds viewing at a time on peak days in the last few months. I don't think the abrupt de-listing from search engines in the last week or so is the result of dramatically falling numbers. I think it's the other way round. Although it could be a tech cock-up rather than deliberate.
Yeah but most of those accounts were Trolley alts trying like crazy to get people like Luciom banned.
I have no insight into this but if there is a deliberate delisting its because they looked into traffic and it was all bots finding them through search engines
If you look at the user breakdown the forum would have 100 registered users and 100s of guests and my guess is that most of the guests were just bots. The TV forum would have 100+ viewers with maybe 3 registered.

I wasn’t thinking of views, since I didn’t think anyone cared how many times their posts are viewed. But obviously not many people post here and that seems like it’s going down over time.
I'm sure there have been quite a few people who came here to discuss moderation issues only to find boring nonsense unrelated to moderation arguments going on. This is a big turn off for them. Posters like CRD and Geezer are allowed to argue this boring nonsense all day every day. This then attracts the handful of trolls who offer nothing of substance.
I have some issues that I am ready to offload at a time of my choosing. I'm not gonna do it now where it can get lost amongst this crap.

I think people stopped posting bc theres nothing new under the sun. they realized I was right about just about everything. America being the most evil empire in history, the genocide in Gaza, the proxy war in Ukraine, the Ameri-Israeli pedophile ring that controls the world, and the final boss of lol - that the Dems are just as crucial to it as the Repubs.
now we are just left with drive-by posts from big mads who wish death on me or make disgusting accusations bc know they cant even handle my arguments. all the while they support neo-Nazis in Ukraine and mass murder of children in Palestine.
