This is gonna be one of the biggest questions. You’d think they’re going for an elite experience so free drinks. But like Parx, at least initially most players will be traveling to the casino as opposed to staying there so that might influence it. Plus all usual concerns magnified a little based on New York being New York .

Formality, and brother, I’ve been posting in here regularly for four years about this, commenting on dozens of social media posts, the hype is there.

The hype level you’re looking for will happen when they announce opening day officially. Same way the opposition to casinos is just protesting now, most people don’t become aware until the last minute. And the people in this thread regularly are aware that there’s a very solid chance we’re still 1 year+ from poker opening

What do the upstate casinos do? In PA it's state gaming regs, right? So if NY allows free drinks there will be free drinks. Nobody's going to want to be the casino that charges if they don't have to be. That leads to being the casino nobody wants to play at.

No idea about state regs but in PA parx charges for drinks in the poker room (free in the pit) and wind creek gives them free.

If nyc starts giving out free drinks like that it will be guys not even tryna gamble wanting to collect on free drinks

Why? It'll still be a casino people arent going to travel all that way to sit down at a 1-3 table entirely to drink without playing.

I meant the casino in general not specifically poker.

I don't think that swarms of homeless alcoholics camping out on slots and not tipping waitresses is a real concern for a casino

Texas Card House here in Dallas provides free beer and it's wild to me how almost no one indulges. If it was in my home city of Kansas City half the room would be wasted.

Here's what the website says for RW Catskills -- hopefully this means drinks will be free in NYC too (I would think casinos would be happy to let their customers drink free if state law allows but what do I know)
