The part i dont like is EC and resorts world could get poker up within the year theoretically, while these other spots will take a while for anything to get built, and then even longer for cards to be in motion. Resorts world is pretty far from manhattan too but everyonewill be there if thats the only room in town for a few years

Definitely sucks that 2 and 3 will take years but it mighttt could be okay. 250 tables opening at RW in June already makes it bigger than Borgata or Parx. If we can get 30-50 of those tables I’ll happily wait for the other two casinos at my seat in RW lol.

The distance thing is pretty funny/sad. I remember being surprised that my travel time to so many of the proposed locations was so similar, because NY traffic is so ****in ridiculous lol

Yea going to certain areas in queens/bx could rival the time it takes to drive to ac lol
But if they really do implement 250 poker tables by june that would be impressive. I do live close to the A, its just that im completely on the opposite end of the line so RW is almost 2 hours away from me lol

250 gaming tables* inclusive of table games, poker, whatever, they haven’t provided any details on the breakout for the first rollout, or the total promised 800 tables

i predict a 40~ poker table room with insane waitlists for the first 6 months at least at RW.

I took the LIRR from Grand Central to Jamaica recently and had to switch there for a different train to Long Island. It's $5 off peak, you can drink on the trains, almost always get a seat. I believe they already run shuttle busses from there now, so I would guess they'll step that up after getting table games.

I'd also guess they'll run some kind of free/low cost shuttle from Manhattan

I think they'll make it pretty easy to get there, but I would take the LIRR for $5 to cut out some of the traffic you'd incur driving there

RW is so far from the city though. If you live on the UES it's at least a 1.5 hour trip no?

depends on the traffic, but it wasn't really meant to service UES customers anyways

in any case, while there might not be a lot of time saved compared to driving to Parx they'd still be saving quite a bit on tolls and gas

I do remember taking a random shuttle bus from midtown to get to RW years back. It definitely took forever

The consistent PITA is going to be weekdays and Fridays. Saturdays the traffic is inconsistent and you can pick ideal times to commute so it won’t always be terrible. But I’d assume weekdays and Fridays, most people will want to get there mid-late afternoon to play through the evening, that’s gonna be toughhh particularly Fridays.

More or less. It’s about a mile from the closest A train station, but I think they run shuttles. There’s also a city bus that stops on the property

coming from the uptown your best bet seems like getting to an F line from Lex & 63 to Kew Gardens (which is only a 20 min ride according to the MTA) and then taking a bus from there

Based on a quick google there is a bus that goes from 57th street and 3rd avenue to RW. I think thats what i took. But it was 10 years ago so not sure. There also was a papi bus that was $1 that went from 207th street by the A train station to yonkers raceway. Not sure if thats still running

They have shuttles, I’m sure more will be added. But the shuttles still gotta drive through traffic. And the Van Wyck is never gonna not be under construction lol

Considering RW would be the only spot in town for a while you would think theyd be incentivized to open up the tables and poker asap

The shuttle to/from Jamaica will get crushed by traffic. Nevermind if you have to wait like 15mins for it. Skip the LIRR and just take the A train it goes right there

~3 min covered walk from Aqueduct Racetrack station on the A which is only serviced by Manhattan bound trains. So if you are coming from the city you can overshoot and get off at Howard Beach/JFK where it’s easy to transfer to the other platform and take the train back the other direction to get to that station. Or you can walk ~12min from the Aqueduct-North Conduit Ave station. There is an entrance to the casino about half a mile from there.
