2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Here's a scenario.
I'm at pick 202. Darnold is still on the board. Here's my team.
Jayden, Kyler
KW, Pacheco, Etienne, Benson, Allgeier
ARSB, London, JSN, Deebo, Pearsall, Tillman, Wilson
Kraft, Otton
I'm definitely done at WR.
Are you:
A) Taking Darnold and RB.
B) Taking Darnold and TE.
C) Taking RB and TE.
C.
If I'm taking a 3rd QB after taking spending as much as I did on Jayden and Kyler then I want someone with more upside than Darnold.
I think optimally it would be C, but I would mix A & B some amount of the time
Would rank C > A > B
C.

Fair points. I did get Kyler 16 picks past ADP, but still total QB cost of pick 39 and pick 111.
A rare 4 QB sighting...
Caleb, Tua, Dimes, Dart
Henry (18), Kyren, Mixon (66), Tuten, Braelon, Shipley
Puka, DJM, Waddle, Diggs, Mooney, Wandale, NWI
Warren, Loveland, Theo
Haha not necessary but honestly not bad
We drafting equanimeous? Lmao
Nope.
Maybe if he can somehow absorb ARSB's superpowers.
First dk draft, Milroe was just for fun haha
Pop fell to 219 otherwise would’ve gone rb. Also, took Wandale in 16 to draft dart and then saw that dart went in 15 and Russ went 2 picks before my next pick haha
Caleb, JJM, Milroe
Brown, Dobbins, Skattebo, Sampson, Benson, Sanders
JJ, AJB, DJM, Tet, Rome, Jennings, Wandale, Pop
Loveland, J Ferguson, Waller

I ended up adding both Hunter and Terrance for some rookie upside and w17 bring backs.

How’d it feel in the DK streets? It’s a way different atmosphere. And the drafts take twice as long lol. And QBs are a different animal.
It was really hard not to draft 20 WRs bc there’s so much value every round
I hate the UI, it lags. It feels remarkably soft though so I’ll put in a bit of volume
Hero and 0 rb feel more correct than on UD where I mostly end up balanced
Yeah, it’s a tough adjustment.
I used to feel the same way about your first and third lines. However, I think it makes more sense to lock in 2-3 of the guaranteed role and protectable volume RBs, then take advantage of all of the WR value throughout. It’s a tough balance, especially with it being PPR + bonuses, which does prop up WRs. And it’s tough to mentally adjust to passing on WR value when you’re used to UD.
If the UI was better, I’d draft even more. It’s my biggest issue. And it tilts me to no end there is no positional color scheme within the player selector/queue, even though it is color schemed on the draft board lol. Until last year, they didn’t even have total cumulative pick # on the draft board. Just the round and the pick # of that round.
Definitely way softer. ADP value is much more plentiful. I’ve also been pounding McBride/Bowers and mostly fading elite QBs.
That’s reasonable. As I was typing it I considered that if wr is huge value every round it might be nice to just hammer early rb.
Can see it both ways bc from my one draft the good/fun/upside RBs go even later on dk so able to build 0/hero easier, but I’ll try out a few different strats and see what I like best
I’m even with the field so far, but I’ll be full fading Aiyuk and Godwin the rest of the way, outside of big ADP values.
I’m overweight and am also full fading haha
Just love finding out on July 22nd that Godwin had a second operation in the spring. I was actually almost full fading him pre-draft, until the Bucs gave him that contract and we got reports of how hard the Pats went after him.
And the Aiyuk vibes are just bad all around.
Yeah I drafted aiyuk at like 120something the other day on UD but otherwise have been trying to avoid both
Especially because of how much I had. Both were in my t6 wr ownership a month ago (I never learn)
2nd DK - this felt more normal like a UD draft although there was still some wild stuff
Baker, Tua, Stafford
Achane, Mixon, Dobbins, Allgeier, Dowdle, Hunter
ARSB, Adams, Evans, Waddle, Deebo, Pittman, Mccloud, Wicks
J Ferguson, Otton, Higbee
Nice price on Deebo.
Another dk, went 4te bc I got shut out
Herbert, Tlaw, AR
Breece, Walker, Kaleb, Tuten, Wright, Shipley
Nico, ARSB, Wilson, Tet, Deebo, Pearsall, QJ
Warren, Arroyo, Conklin, Theo
Another 4te, wasn’t sure if it was right here
Purdy, Caleb, Herbert
Brown, Warren, Tuten, Sampson, Ford, Giddens
CD, Ladd, Evans, Tet, Rome, Jennings, Wicks
Pitts, Chig, Sanders, Gadsen
I think the first one looks good.
I might have gone another RB on the second one instead of the 4th TE, but I don't think it's unreasonable.
I could be wrong, but I think you want to end up at 3-6-8-3 way more often than not on DK. UD has more flexibility with the build structures with the 18 rounds.
I think 3-6-8-3 is almost for sure optimal, I had so many early WRs that I wanted to take a shot at Gadsen, but 7th rb is probably correct
