I have never been part of the Twitter world. Perhaps this is why I'm not as angry as people in here. I don't know the story behind Caitlyn and Angel. It sounds like it's good for the WNBA. They need side shows like this because watching girls make layups isn't very exciting. I think Angel is hot as well. It is silly how one event can elevate Sophy to legend status. It's how our world works. She has the looks and personality and now a tough girl image.

It’s actually just an elaborate shifting of the goalposts which is why it’s exhausting to argue with many people on here, including rick who just goes off on wild tangents.

I want to say I’ve earned every single thing, but as a white person, there is privilege. A lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been Black players. This league has kind of been built on them. The more we can appreciate that, highlight that, talk about that, and then continue to have brands and companies invest in those players that have made this league incredible, I think it’s very important. I have to continue to try to change that. The more we can elevate Black women, that’s going to be a beautiful thing.

I’m not. I used it as a source for a quote.
The only point I was trying to make is that people are making Reece out to be some player in the racial agitation war, meanwhile you are spouting things that are against everything she stands for.
The truth is that black people have done so much for the game of basketball and it’s kind of pathetic that people latch onto Reece pretty much just because she’s white.
I’m not sure if it’s really the white privilege that is the issue there though. I think it’s more related to the weirdness people have shown to black female athletes who oftentimes get picked out as being aggressive, manly, ugly, butch, etc while the white female athletes get lionized. I don’t think it fits squarely in the white privilege category but I do think it’s a worthwhile observation to unpack.
Black women have been the most dependable voting block for Democrats for the longest time. It’s not shocking that eventually they would demand a VP candidate.

I agree with you. Kamala is unremarkable similar to the white VP's. She was obviously picked for strategic advantage.
