Obviously trooper wanting kings to fold on the flop is dumb. I think trooper is omitting something somewhere along the way, like he raised river and called off a re raise, just because I don’t think people are 3x pot jamming river, granted I don’t play 1-2 often, the times I have, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that

It's really amazing it's taken Diesel this long to realize how much better dealing poker is compared to playing poker financially.
It's like he had an epiphany last year dealing the Orleans series that hey, dealing cards for $30+/hr for 8 hours and then going home everyday is pretty sweet. He's usually playing 10+ hours and switching rooms several times so he gets action from recs for $10/hr at best. And he can't ever lose money. PLUS OMG EDR FOOD. Diesel must have been in heaven last year eating at the Orleans employee dining room. A neverending buffet of sausage and rice for free and available 24/7.
Honestly, that's probably the real reason he got a dealing job. Free food 24/7.

I recall a TBC story of when he was down to very little money sleeping on some grass outside of an office building and being woken up when he got soaked by the sprinklers. Which still sounds better than traveling for almost 2 days to see half of a baseball game you have to leave early from to make your flight back stinking up the airplane in the process.

Years ago one of my friends was trying to be a poker pro. I wish I had his love for poker because then I'd play a lot more hours. he could beat 1/2, was probably break even ish in 2/5 and would get wrecked in 5/10.
So he went through the cycle of beating 1/2, going up to 2/5, half the time winning in 2/5 and getting destroyed in 5/10 and half the time losing in 2/5 and getting sent back to 1/2.
He was telling me about a hand one day and he lost a lot with some hand like ace 7 or ace 8 offsuit where he overlimped then called a raise pre. He had been playing for several years at this point. And when I told him that hand sucks preflop the look on his face as it said "it does?" with genuine bewilderment was incredible.
