Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
the moderation policy of the i/p thread is very clear. anyone in any doubt about it should feel free to PM me, and i will spell it out for youyou can either accept that policy and continue to post (as i do), or you can reject it and stop posting as rafiki, mets and gs have largely done. i respect their decisionmy view, strongly held, is that you shouldn't post in it if you plan
The I/P thread is way overly moderated. This is a very emotionally charged topic and yet you have to walk on egg shells. Are people really that offended when someone says something bad about their team? It's a shame you can't point out something that is true just because it hurts someone's feelings. They should just shut down the thread or get someone to run it who understands that there is not gonna be a Kumbaya moment anytime soon.
I'll probably be staying away until there is a change.
See, this is the type of obvious antisemitism that I would immediately moderate without question, but Dunyain is on the pro-Israel team, so itβs hard to know if moderating it as the antisemitic comment that it is would be welcomed or just another reason to complain about my βobvious biasβ.
Maybe Rafiki can tell me.
Why aren't people allowed to have opinions? If this is how he feels what is the issue?
I think the answer to your question is do nothing.

It’s tightly moderated because *both* sides asked for very narrow definitions and were accusing each other of racist posting and racist intentions. Multiple times the rules have been tightened *by request*.
Also, you cannot post in that thread until you respond to the PM, as was discussed.

Are you asking me why it’s unacceptable for someone to post “Jews play the victim card too much”?
Aren’t you one of the supposed people I chased away from the thread for allegedly being antisemitic? π
Folks, we’re done here lol
HERE.... is the reason for the "harsh" ban. Little time-outs have no effect on some people.Yes, rafiki, cn has been accused of exactly this. The I/P issue is one that has been going on for decades. It is unsolvable in the near future. rafikik, you know this by posting this:Wouldn't it be nice if LB's sentiment here could be intertwined in every response?Gentlemen, I agree wit
was mets' posting outside of i/p thread a problem
hemorrBOIDS (I have been dying to do that!..... alas, never a great opportunity so I took the shot)
His User Notes are littered with "problems"
i/p has weird special rules and happens to be moderated by someone that has a strange vendetta against him
just tell him he's not welcome in that thread. way better than permabanning a guy with fifty million posts over two decades

As a rational adult I realize that him saying "Jews play the victim card too much" doesn't mean he believes every Jew plays the victim card. Also, if this is what he thinks why is it an issue? Are there really people in here who are so offended that they have to contact you? Our society is becoming more and more emotionally fragile. I foresee a future with a lot of fake neurotic people.
I'm staying away from the I/P thread because the moderation is out of control and I don't want to get a ban when I spend most of my time in other threads. Also, I fee that authentic conversation is stifled. I respect that you all have your way of doing things and I will just stay away.
When he gets to 50,000,0000......
Tell him to stay out would be anti-(whateverism) and he would revolt.
If he returns, he can be reinstated with a P&S ban, not a specific P&S thread.
Mongidig, from my notes it appears your timeouts in that thread have mostly been for violating the racist and bigoted posting rule. I’m sorry not all of your “opinions” are acceptable for that thread, but the rule will not be changing.
when is the ban over
crossnerd sentenced him to death. i dunno who was on the firing squad
He sure knows how to push... BUTTONS
Iβm not sure what youβre asking for, but Iβm the only one who can revoke the ban at this time, and itβs over when Mets has demonstrated what I have already said in this thread- that he understands what the rules are, how he is violating them, and understands now that it needs to stop. The requests are over.
I'm sure he'll be back. Wasn't that already like his 10th account or something? All those links he posted to old posts he claimed were supporting him (although they weren't lol) had him starting and posting in various threads under all different names.
I checked out his twitter after he got banned. He posted a link to the ATF thread calling it the single most important thread in forum history or something. Sort of funny but also sort of sad at the same time.

technical question: how does this work if he's banned? can he still pm you despite the ban? is there some other mechanism in place for him (or anyone who's banned) to demonstrate any of this?
