2026 WSOP!!!
Any excitement yet??
Anyone happen to know if weβll need to get our ID checked again for the WSOP+ app or are we good if
Sigh. My ID expired in December so I have to go verify my new one in-person this year.
At least I suspect the lines will be minimal given how most will be able to register through the app without needing to go through this.
I'm guessing the WSOP will be looking for trends or outliers, not really overall ratings. One would hope the incidents of players giving bad ratings because of bad beats would be spread evenly and not really effect any individual dealers too negatively given the volume of days/dealers. If the policy proves to be an incentive for dealers to try harder, and if it helps the WSOP identify problems faster, I'm all for it. But I suspect it is as much as anything to give players the impression the WSOP cares about dealer quality. Sure, it's something. But if they really cared about dealer quality, they would do things to actually improve dealer quality, like paying more, or providing a more predictable revenue stream for the dealers they get.
That being said, I believe complaints about dealer quality are pretty overblown. Yes, there are some glaring examples of massive mistakes. And yes, there is a fair bit of variance from day to day and table to table. But I'm not really sure what players reasonably expect. They have a thousand dealers every day. You can't expect them all to be great. Players should try to be patient and not make a tough situation worse.
I am thankful that they can find all the dealers they need. This thing wouldn't be possible without the dealers.
It makes no sense to have to be βverifiedβWhat other company in the world makes you veify a credit card before you use it. ie: So Iβm going to order something on-line and pay by credit card. But the company is based in the opposite coast I live in. I think Iβll go out there, verify my card, then I can come home and order it online! Let me hit the easy button!! For my WSOP trip
Due to regulations and their own self-interest, the gaming industry has all sorts of policies in place to prevent fraud. And it's a good idea for them to make sure everything is on the up and up so that banks will continue to allow them to offer the use of credit cards. In the future, when we have a cashless society and you have a chip installed in your brain so that your identity can easily be determined on a moment's notice, you won't have to worry about a laborious verification process. But in the meantime, maybe book an earlier flight. Landing exactly on time, hopping off the plane and being seated at the poker table within 30 minutes seems kind of far-fetched regardless of what one must do before they play at the WSOP.
On somewhat of a tangent -- I think Apple stores are in cahoots with thieves. The first place a thief goes after he steals your credit card? To an Apple store to purchase big ticket items using that stolen card. Tell me that Apple doesn't know what is going on. Then it is the CC company that ends up with the loss and Apple laughs all the way to the bank. Big ticket items should warrant ID verification but it doesn't happen. Why not? I am speaking from experience after my gym locker was pilfered. The police are lazy in pursuing these crimes too.
I finally found a platform where I donβt have to fight the interface just to see my rank. Evoplay Arena runs so much smoother than the usual sites, and the global leaderboard is actually updated in real-time. Planning to spam this more than the current 13 times on 2+2 various boards or are you done now ?
Is there anywhere that the daily satellites are listed?
and satellites for the main event?
Also are there much more freezout tournaments this year compared to past years? 26 if i'm correct!
Where can I find the structure for the Monster Stack? and how many days is it over?
All of this β every satellite, the Monster Stack structure, and a whole lot more β is already on the
All the information you are looking for (and more) is on the WSOP web site.
Cheers, I found it. Many thanks
Is there anywhere to get some Live Poker Coaching in Las Vegas over the WSOP period?
I plan to play a few events, and possibly the Main event, so I think some live coaching might be a good investment!
There isn't a "where". You just have to make arrangements with anybody who does private coaching. Even if you are both in LV at the time, it will still most likely be a phone call or a zoom call. I do private coaching myself. Feel free to ask offline if you want more details.
Found the perfect live poker coaching for the 2026 WSOP with Just Nine Seats. Not sure if your allowed to post a link to the website?
Most tournament sites feel like they were made in 2005 and they break constantly. Evoplay Arena feels like a modern 2026 platform that actually respects your time and your hardware. Check it here: https://arenaevoplay.games/?utm_source=forum&utm_medium=shilling&utm_campaign=aren_launch
Anyone know if they are giving tier credits/reward credits per hour for cash games at Paris? Or is it the same crappy system where you have to annoy the floor person for a comp?
Did not play cash at all last year so don't know if it changed from the other years. Would like to play more cash this year at Paris just simply for being able to jump the list with 7 star, Lists too long elsewhere.
Anyone know from experience last year if there any credit cards that actually gave 2% cash back or more?
I have a couple cards that are 2% and one that I think is 5% for gas and groceries.
Thereβs a credit card thread over in OOT if you want to check it out and see what cards are best for that.

Well my Citi Visa (Costco anywhere) card gave 1% back. Not sure you can do any better than that on this type of purchase but what do I know about credit cards.
Can confirm my Chase Freedom Ultimate worked fine at 1.5% last year. Iβll still prob use it and take the 0.5% hit- just wondering if thereβs something better.
Just do a Google search, there's plenty of cards out there that just give us straight cash back of 2% on everything
The threads in OOT and Google searches are not helpful because Iβm looking for firsthand accounts of WSOP-specific experiences from last year. Ie, which cards actually offered the cashback bonuses for the entertainment category (if any- like Capital One Savor).
I also did a little research and think most of the 2% cashback on everything cards have foreign transaction fees (Wells Fargo, Amex, Citi), though I donβt have any personal experience to say for sure. (A few others are business cards which are more complicated.)
The no foreign transaction fee stipulation is a differentiator which you didn't mention.
Without that there are a ton.
I have a fidelity visa signature card, 2% cash back on everything, no FX fee. Stipulation is you must have a fidelity account that the cash gets deposited into. They do have a "cash management account" which is the equivalent of an online checking account. They auto transfer my cash back every month into that account.
You can get an atm card for the cash management account or easily transfer money from there to any other account you have.
I read somewhere that there is no fees charged by the WSOP if you use a debit card. Obviously no cash back on that one either though.

I use edge boost, Which is a prepaid debit and gives cashback for gaming transactions. It is not much but no fees and can use it for online sites as well.
Bought into WSOP events and WSOPC events no issues and earned cashback.
Sounded appealing at first, but I just went to their site to check it out and Hellmouthβs hideous face was plastered on their homepage. I might have to pass out of principle.

That is my understanding also. Last year though I didnβt use the debit card as last year there was no fee on Credit card use !
Definitely will use debit card this year.π
Do the persistently high room rates suggest heavy attendance or just Caesars' attempt to make money now that GG poker is grabbing much of the proceeds? Are we paying the price for this weird new arrangement?
Anyone know about using a debit or credit card thru the WSOP app to register for an event?
Any charges or fees?
Debit card should not have any.
Apologies if this has been discussed in the thread already. Thread is long and I have not found it.
Thanks

Imo Little to do with the world series and more to do with busier times in Vegas.
For example, looking at room rates without a WSOP code, rates in the first week of June are cheaper than the first week of July near July 4th.
Vegas attendance is down across the board. And rates closer to July/August should be lower if itβs based on attendance as fewer people go in the crazy hot summer months.
It is everything to do with the WSOP. It's why they bracket big field events around weekends where they can jack up the rate even higher. Poker players are a captive audience. Ever notice that the rate is even higher when you attempt to use the WSOP26 'discount' code? Or that they make that 'discount' unavailable for many WSOP dates? The squeeze play applies to more than just the cards.
The captive audience part is really true for any event going on in the city. If it's big enough, it will affect hotel rates, especially at the properties hosting it. All the hotels use demand-based pricing. When they know people will be coming anyway, they charge more, when it's slow and they need to attract more people to come, they charge less. As for putting the big field events on weekends, what would you have them do, schedule the big events to be centered around a Wednesday? That seems like a really good way to reduce attendance. Retirees and pros may make up a large number of entries, but the majority of them are coming from rec players who work Monday through Friday. Many of whom also have families, and they can only use so many vacation days for a poker trip.
I get your gripes about the discount code. It's always been pretty silly, as they do have blackout dates, they usually have other better promos running, or they're offering better rates to rewards members. Of course, they want you to use a rewards card instead of a discount code, as it gives them better marketing data and opportunities. I'd bet this same thing happens with a number of large trade shows and conventions.
I'm not seeing anything especially nefarious here, it's just standard business.
I have tried multiple times to link my bank account to the app for ACH transfers (with no fees). Each time, I complete the process and get an error message. I then get an email from my bank telling me that the third-party app has linked to my account, but when I go to the app to pay for a ticket, the ACH option does not have my bank account listed. Very frustrating. Has anyone been able to successfully link a bank account for ACH payment??

Hi Kevin,
First time ACH registration requires an in-person verification process. After registering, Participants must present a valid ID at the WSOP Verification area. The name on the ID must match the name on the tournament registration and the bank account used to execute the ACH transaction. Please allow at least one hour prior to the WSOP Event start time for first-time ACH registrations. Once a Participant (i) has completed their initial online registration and paid via ACH transaction and (ii) has completed their initial in-person identification verification at the Versailles Ballroom in the Paris convention center area, the Participant may register for additional WSOP Events online using the same ACH transaction method. Once registered, a Participant may access their ticket in the WSOP LIVE application, or have their ticket printed at the Verification Desk or WSOP Main Cage.
Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you.
It appears that you have to do the in-person verification first, THEN you will be able to link your bank account via the ACH function in the check-out process in the WSOP Live app. Doesn't make much sense to me, but that's what they seem to be saying. That would explain why I'm getting the error messages. Maybe, since I tried to set it up and got the email confirming that the third-party app was linked to my account, then as soon as I complete the in-person verification, the bank account(s) will show up as options under ACH payment in the app without going through the online setup process again. Let's hope. If anyone has success with this after in-person verification in Vegas, please let us know!

SUCCESS! the WSOP Live app has been updated to solve the ACH problem and I was able to (finally) link my bank account and purchase by tournament ticket with no fee via ACH.

Hi Kevin,
No, you are correct. You can link your WSOP account for ACH transactions, then finish verification in-person. Please try ACH registration again through the app -there was an issue that was corrected today. Sorry for the confusion and please let us know if you are still having any issues. Thank you.
It all kicks off tomorrow!
Anyone there yet? Anyone able to sneak into Paris and get a peak of the new thunderdome? They say they changed it pretty dramatically this year.
