That would have been fine? If you genuinely meant the Alberta NDP but were a bit clumsy at not including Alberta explicitly, that would be very easy to forgive and forget. Not everything has to be a pernicious lie of deception. Although it was fairly obvious to me that Carney was referring to the Michigan part of the agreement and completely non-obvious you were referring to the Albertan NDP specifically.
Of course the Alberta NDP leader has indeed regularly attended pride so you would still be wrong.
