Ahh and here is the late implosion I figured someone would have. Liu torches it

There’s always at least one in the final three tables every year

The AK was only 10 million, though he did cold call off vs a UTG open, MP shoves 4 million something, Button shoves 20BB, liu in the SB overcalls (UTG folds who doesn't have much more than 10 million himself) but it's 20BB and there are a bunch of extra chips in the pot. (it was 500bb/500 ante bully not 250)

Getting his turn+river bluff hero called down then his A6 was a hero call down gone wrong was a lot of the rest of it. I thought the Q9o jam was a mistake too, though with the high ante it's not that bad to just try to steal it and hope. Also everyone thinks you might be on tilt so hard to get a fold from the range of hands you want to fold.

I've certainly been there with a stack and things went wrong and I went wtf just happened at the end.

You have to make some hero call somewhere or you get run over it's different times in the main. I didnt think that was it either but he's made two straight years a deep run in the main.

Brunson has been nursing a smaller stack for an hour+ than what Liu just instantly shoved with Q9o

AK is not an easy call there lol. Id argue its an easy fold, absolutely no point gambling for 40bb when you have invested 0 and up against a super strong range from BU. Absolute dream scenario you are up against QQ with the other players not blocking your A/K (which they most likely do). You never face AQ or worse.. BU range is literally AK/QQ+, maaaaybe JJ if MP has shown a lot of aggression earlier. Even if BU actually has QQ/JJ the jam from MP most likely blocks your outs as AK. If BU has AK you are likely losing money against a pair from MP and at best chopping his 16bb with BU. Its a pointless spot to take, absolutely losing EV.

Even though UTG jam is super short, you wont see MP showing up with crap isoing in this spot with so many players behind. In turn, unless BU is an aggro tard he will realize that MP is already fairly tight and his jamming range for 40bb here with SB covering behind should be mega strong.

What did MP shove with?

Typical big stack tilt. Lose a huge portion of your stack then unable to recalibrate, wanting to get back to that big stack fast.

I made clips of the Deeb vs. Givens' highlights for everyone who missed them. They're pretty damn entertaining. Watch them soon because I'm not going to leave them up long. ESPN app wouldn't let me screen capture.

Part 1: See what had happened is...

Part 2: ...the story continues (2+2 shoutout!)

Part 3: Givens' morning routine

Part 4: Battle of the masseuses

WSOP wants to give you 20s to think about it Bully

Ridiculous, but you gotta read the rule sheet when you enter a tournament in case there any unusual local rules.

Lol. Clash of the douche bags. It takes a big one to make Shaun Deeb seem like a decent guy.

What was the point of the Bonomo "story"? Givens was backed by Ike and then found out 3 years later Bonomo had a piece of Ike and wanted 5k, and he gave it to Bonomo without arguing? He made it sound like he was about to spill some serious tea about Bonomo..

Got moved to givens table in the 1500 plo, he wasn't there yet, showed up 20 minutes late back from break and seemed to be on some combo of Adderall cigarettes and caffeine. Texted my friends couldn't see how he wouldn't crash out. Maybe he can keep going though. Except he misses several levels.

AK for 20BB is often pry this from my cold dead hands in a tournament. A lot of people are just gonna pile it in. 40 is a different discussion. UTG raises (barely has button covered), MP shoves 4 something, button shoves 10. There's what 16 something M or 17 in the pot and we only have to call off 10 with AK to win that giant pile of sweet chips that put you into the chip lead, and don't hurt you much losing unless you decide to go a bit off the reservation afterwards.

I mean. Mizrachi called a 5 bet jam for 100% of his chips with AK at the ME FT from a middle aged man who was all+ when 7 handed and I think 3rd in chips

If an unknown rec had won last year playing Mizrachi’s hands they’d be a laughingstock lumped in with Hal Fowler.

Contrariwise, if TJ or Seidel had won in ‘03 playing Moneymaker’s hands, they’d have a statue at every entrance to Binion’s.

Anyone have any thoughts on today's table draws?

Myself I am glad Deeb and Givens aren't on the same table to start.
I think Deeb got himself a good table draw.

Also: Four players at Givens' table, english is not their primary language, so Givens might not be able to run his mouth so much.
I hope.

In cutoff with more than 15bb. These moves are done with half that stack. Patience and try to rebuild I'd say.

An Ace as a blocker or a bit higher two cards, not to speak of a pair.

There was a guy in a nonWSOP tournament talking about how he had a “cocaine safe house” back in (hometown). Another player said “in addition to being a pos drug dealer, you are the dumbest mfer i’ve ever met for talking about it, especially in the middle of a Las Vegas poker tournament you had to show your ID to enter”.

Givens talks exactly like a bro used to BSing & buffaloing gullible, fascinated/scared white people who watch too many movies and listen to too many records. That said, he is likely known third or fourthhand by just enough wrong people that having his face next to $10M plastered all over ESPN likely won’t turn out well for him.

Jeff Platt says this first hour will be good.

The original post by Bully is wrong, wheat posted it more accurately, it was not 40BB, it was 20, the blinds were 250/500 not 125/250.

It would be hard for me to lay this down for 20BB when I have 100.

Oh no. Not Stapes. Not for this stage of the event…

AJss

WTF was that (Jumalon) ???

Boom Todd

No runner runner for Brunson, but he showed the power of the Ace.

Cause "GTO" says some percentage of the time you jam that hand, but day 8, 21 left, I don't think saaka is 3 betting lite, seems silly to risk that much when he could have folded and still had 40m, just to try to steal 3 mill after getting 3 bet

Sorry guys, it was late, I wish the new site was working so I could fix it now.

My argument is while it’s likely in a vacuum slightly EV+ to call, it’s a perfect example of the chips you could win not being as valuable as the chips you could lose idea, especially if you’re likely to spew more if you do lose them, which is exactly what appears happened.

Plus there’s my theory that deep in the ME is a OIAL event so there is no EV or long run. Obviously if this is the 10K Bounty event you beat the button into the pot. The ME? Meh, why take a chance? At least that’s the way I feel about it.

All good man, and I'll agree there is merit to folding, even for the 20BB after thinking about it.

I guess it was more out of all of his mistakes or spots where he lost chips he didn't need to, this one would be way down the list
