its not a handful of exceptions the last 250 years. mass incarceration and COINTELPRO started in the 60s. the first decades of this country had slaves ffs.

It’s quite unbelievable to think most of our founders were ok with kidnapping people in Africa, putting them on boats and making them slaves in the US.

did they even treat animals the horrific way they treated those human beings. chained in the bowels of a slave ship packed on top of each other no air to breathe no food to eat.

two million died in transit. packed rotting among the living.

Have you seen how we treat animals today? Most likely many in this society would tolerate it.

The problem is those exceptions are a handful when viewed through the lens of the last 250 years, but they are a shitload of exceptions if viewed through the lens of the last 18 months. That's why you proudly voted for Trump three times.

Whatever, dude.

That's quite the hot take.

He could learn a lot from d2_e4 and Trolly.

It's not 5D chess to use the same strategy that has worked numerous times to expel Western powers. As chez says, it's anti-5D chess to fall into the trap yet again. The simple fact is that if you don't have the threat of complete subjugation, you are actually weak. Trump is currently learning this. Dunyain is correct in his cultural analysis, but one thing that should be critiq

Like I have been saying to Luckbox, I think it is definitely premature for the IRGC to declare victory and start victory parades, regardless if the war restarts. Iran's economy is a **** show, no one knows who is even in charge, and there is factional in-fighting. It is always hard to predict if/when authoritarian regimes will collapse under stress like this. No one would have predicted Assad or the USSR falling when they did.

But the regime is definitely calculating that if they can just wait Trump out, they can survive and rebuild. We shall see.

I’m sure Trump any day/hour now will call off the strikes and claim they have an agreement. This time it’s serious. These latest strikes are nothing more than Trump saving face.

Lol. If I trolled you, I'd leave you in tears. Instead, I just bust your nuts over the retaaded stuff you say (e.g., glazing and simping for white supremacists and then being oblivious to doing it).

But yes, vic is of course right about the history of the country during the Civil Rights era. Slavery era doesn't count because slaves didn't have constitutional rights, but it does underscore a mentality.

That said, if Trump were president during the Civil Rights era, it would have been far worse than it was, which is the point. Dude is the antithesis of Christ's teachings, yet you sucked him off for 11 years straight. Nice job.

Christians tell themselves that they are loving and forgiving but in reality they are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. The belief that you have to give yourself to Christ or burn in hell is stupid.

Religion is just a name for a tribal survival cult.

The rules about things like loving and forgiving are meant to maintain order inside the tribe. They don't apply to their dealings with those outside the tribe.

It's not unique to the Christian tribe. They just happen to be associated with geopolitical dominance in Europe and N America so that tribe is more obvious.

Credit for being clear about expectations at least. US challenging Iran to say it out loud....

Iran is either going to make a statement that is not what the US wants to hear, or they will make no statement at all. They don't seem to have a "concede" button...

The Trump administration has given Iran until Saturday to publicly commit to ending attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz or face unspecified consequences, according to an Axios report citing three U.S. officials.

Axios reported the administration wants Tehran to publicly acknowledge the strategic waterway is open, commit to stopping attacks on commercial vessels and recognize that all shipping lanes through the strait will remain open without tolls.

According to Axios, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to meet Saturday with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi in Muscat as regional mediators work to ease tensions and revive nuclear talks.

One U.S. official told Axios that if Iran does not make a public commitment, “it is not gonna be a great day for them.”

So Trump is demanding the strait be reopened or face military consequences? How is that any different than what he's been demanding for the last four months?

It looks like you've had somewhere in the ballpark of 1000 ships going through in the last month with a few dozen being attacked. Attacked being a random projectile or a drone or some dude on a fishing boat. And it looks like most of those still went through.

Oil is 70 a barrel. The **** just isn't going down right now but the media is doing everything it can to turn something boring it into some Ali/Frazier fight for the clicks.

The media ensures that people remain distracted and unable to focus on the concerns of average citizens.

So they feed us a steady supply of protagonists and villains which cater to our addiction to argue about good and evil. It's all part of the greater Machiavellian divide and conquer. The average citizen experience is not represented in their drama.

Idk how people say this type of stuff with a straight face.
