President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

Bernie got young people excited about participating. He routinely drew enthusiastic crowds in the 10's of thousands.

He was a very successful chief executive of the city of Burlington, Vt.

He has written more successful amendments than any other Senator.

He encouraged his supporters to vote for Biden. He did 39 campaign rallies for Hillary.

Thank you. Nothing.

Bernie did something Kamala didn't.

He got people excited to vote for him.

In my original post I clarified that there WERE safe places in DC. You even made reference to it in a recent response to me. (Remember my parenthetical 'afterthought'?)

Okay, so we're back to "she must be from the ghetto because she's black."

'Speculating' isn't a fallacy, you silly goose. (Especially since I made it clear I was speculating, you dum-dum.)

I forgot you're a dinosaur. I meant: HYPOTHESIS CONTRARY TO FACT FALLACY ALERT!!!

sure. better than kamala. that’s something probably.

Not really, since we were never there in the first place since I neither said nor implied such a thing. I never once mentioned the race of the girl.

Yes, I'm a geezersaurus!

Never heard of that fallacy. I'll google it as time permits.

The bottom line is that the establishment Democrats are a smaller constituency than the Trump constituency.

The Democrats can no longer win by shitting on progressives and socialists.

In NYC, the left is taking over. That's the future of the Dems in a country which has only done one thing well for a half century .... concentrate wealth in fewer hands.

The Dems need a working class hero.

In a democracy, getting people excited to vote for you turns out to be kinda important.

THIS!!!

Given that nationally there are more registered Democrats than Republicans, the Dems could win virtually every Presidential election just by having equal or higher voter turnout that the Republicans.

Now it’s a democracy. Yesterday you were posting about how democracy is all a big sham. You just grab whatever argument is convenient.

Yeah that’s why the main electoral strategy for republicans is voter suppression.

I know amplify is trolling but I am enjoying the DNC-posting. I think nut nut is too narcissistic to even try to understand the positions of the people he is talking to so he doesn’t realize he’s being trolled.

I mean bro ran for president twice and didn’t get the nomination.

I kind of agree with you here but Mamdani still needs to deliver something tangible to the bottom 90% instead of just sweet talking them with lefty talking points. Because if his words dont deliver the goods, New Yorkers will kick him to curb.

This seems like another convenient switch after all that talk about needing someone to make horrendously unpopular decisions for the good of the earth.

Kamala was not the result of anything democratic.

The public didn't choose her to be either VP or the party nominee.

Not really, since we were never there in the first place since I neither said nor implied such a thing. I never once mentioned the race of the girl.

Let's try it another way.

Think of it as an imperative sentence. If you say, "Stop!" to a person, the subject 'you' is implied. You can't later say, "No, bro, I didn't once say you, I'm meant someone else even though I was talking to you."

In this case, the fundamental part of the photo is entirely that the woman is black. If she were a white chick on the train, there would be no photo and nothing to discuss. Therefore, any comments you make about the female are in the context of her being black.

The Democratic Party clearly doesn't prioritize winning.

The electoral college setup means that there a small handful of competitive states that determine the outcome of the presidential election.

MI, PA, WI, NV, AZ, GA ....maybe a few others.

A party that wanted to win the POTUS election would select the candidates who do best in those states. It's not complicated.

It would not schedule Iowa, NH and South Carolina as the early and decisive primary states. The Dems are never going to win S Carolina in the general election. Those voters should have no say in who the nominee is.

Obama more or less spilled the beans in a 2012 speech in which he complained about lack of GOP cooperation.

He stated that his policies were basically "80's moderate Republican".

Some of us can't stomach that. We want the version of Democrats that existed before Boomers demanded low taxes and Reagan.

I'm happy for you that reading fiction gives you pleasure.

I am immersed in the non-fiction at the moment. I find the cliffhanger of real life more riveting.

Sure, but youve made several references from Song of ice and fire and have argued adopting certain ideas so I wouldnt say the fiction and non fiction world is completely separate here.

Game of Thrones was a fictional series which was extremely insightful about the non-fictional reality of human beings. It offers a lot to draw from.

The White Walkers in Game of Thrones are a great metaphor for rich white consumers whose toxic outputs are a threat to the living.

"Fiction is the lie though which we tell the truth"

The White Walkers are also a good metaphor for the AMOC.

The Walkers have been dead for thousands of years and most people regard them as just a legend.

The AMOC stopped 13,000 years ago. People have no idea what that ocean circulation system means. They don't understand what system with a petawatt of energy means when it stops functioning.

I haven't read the books, so my references are from GOT.

A girl of any color is almost certainly safer on a train full of Proud Boys than in almost any neighborhood in DC. (Unless the Proud Boys are just out 'wilding' on the train, which wasn't the case here as they were en route to an important rally.)

Nice photo-op for the Proud Boys as they totally left her alone and apparently didn't even try to steal her seat. Too bad for the photographer that the girl didn't have a look of terror on her face. If she had, the photographer may have won the Pulitzer Prize for Photography.

addendum: Had the passenger been a white girl, they may have tried to recruit her to be one of their groupies.
