75% of the final 12 in the $10k 2-7 NL are on 25k fantasy rosters...that will be a final table with big names

by ScotchOnDaRocks m

And Hellmuth at 10K NL2-7 table would probably get more viewers than say a Day 2 of a random NLH tournament. The rep said to complainers that the schedule is made and there is zero flexibility.

Hmmm I don’t remember who it was (I think one of the commentators) but I actually thought I heard the opposite- that the schedule is flexible and they’d switch if someone really notable makes a final table. Forget which event it was, but I think they actually said they would switch to the $10k LO8 if Hellmuth was still in (he busted shortly before streaming). I guess we’ll see today though…

Ofc, notable to us might not be what they consider notable enough- like has to be an average Joe-known person. A lot of people don’t even know who Shaun Deeb is.

It was some official rep in chat, but perhaps they are changing their tune.

Monster Stack 9k runners last year, 3k this year. What’s changed other than the timing?

Hard to complain when it's free but yeah I'd like to see some mixed.

My question is more timing/schedule- Is the 2-3hr delay necessary? Starting the stream at 9-10pm eastern and running till 6am can't be gto for viewership.

It’s easy to complain as you no longer have access to coverage you seemingly preferred, some mixed games and generally earlier start times. And there are ads in the coverage, if you watch a lot this summer you see Negreanu walk in and out of Lexicon bank hundreds of times

Also for all intents and purposes PokerGo was free. If people compute their budgets, $15 gets rounded down to zero. Drink two less Starbuck coffees that month if it makes a difference.

I'm not optimistic, doubt they will bump the GGillions final table for 2-7 nl, even though I would love that.

Also seems like they expected way more runners for that 10k based on content leading up to it, seemed like they thought they would get like 2k runners +, they were hyping it up hard.

There are still two more flights (4 total) and flight B still has registration open.

Props to poker news for having the wrong event information for the PLO8 event.
https://www.pokernews.com/tours/wsop/202...

All the info they have for the 2025 winner, runners and prize pool from last year are for the limit O/8 event not the PLO8. Have come across a few errors in other events as well. I guess it's easy to mix up the 2 events, but that's their entire job. Check your work guys, come on.

Oh I see. I just saw flight 1A, 1B then 2A and assumed that was it (as illogical as that is in hindsight)

The allure of tournament nlh is dead (cash games are still amazing)....only the mouth breathing dummies haven't realized they are a huge dog in the current landscape. I cashed the Mini Mystery, and I am a nlh fish, I ran redic pure just to min cash. The mixed game numbers are holding, that says a lot.

Where is the thread for people who like poker and are excited to go to the WSOP?

This Event #17: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship is moving at a glacial pace.

Does there seem to be more Japanese players this year or is it me?

For a country where playing poker for money is illegal it’s a decent showing

I had read this….but when in Tokyo last summer found a couple card rooms. Walked in one, seemed like a real cash room…was tempted but with family so decided not to. Maybe that’s changed?

Where can I find the streaming schedule?

Its been covered elsewhere in this forum (LVL) that there are some underground β€œpoker dojo’s” teaching japanese poker players and sending them into big series like wsop etc. particularly for mixed games, 2-7/badugi/A-5. They are essentially a stable underneath a wealthy business man poker player. Ali Nejad has mentioned on stream they are attacking the 80/160 mix that he plays in.

Japan also have a plan to win the soccer/football World Cup by 2050 according to ESPN.

There have been a lot of Japanese players in Vegas over the past few summers.

Is the dealing really as bad as people are making it out to be on Twitter? I was planning to mostly play wsop events, against better judgement, but may rethink that.

Played 8 hours in the Monster Stack today. I’d say of my 16 dealers, 4 were very good, 10 were fine to mediocre, and 2 were pretty bad. Of course, most players make it worse by yelling/panicking or making things unnecessarily difficult (not making correct change; joking to dealers with obvious language and skill barriers stuff like β€œwait go shad and push me the pot”) and saying stuff like β€œβ€˜brutal having two awful dealers in a row” while the girl is still in the box.

imo, not playing WSOP cuz worried about bad dealers is a lil strange

this same convo happens every, Imagine trying to recruit, sschedule and manage the dealers needed to pull off WSOP. its gargatuan. nobody should expect rock solid dealers every table, and eeryone shouldexpect some dealers that are way below avg from time to time.

That said, this was pretty painful dealer mistake. maybe the most painful Ive ever seen

Thanks, sounds like its just the standard wsop dealing and not much different than past years.

Having been out to Vegas many times for WSOP, I think it’s reasonable to choose to play at some of the other venues like Wynn, Aria and Venetian, at least in part due to significantly better/faster dealing. Sorry if you misunderstood, I didn’t mean I wasn’t going to go to wsop at all.
