good data points. there are others. Take Canadian visitors to Vegas in '26. down close to 20%.

But honestly I dont need data , I suspect numbers will be down just by thinking about it.

last year non muricans accounted for nearly 40% of entrants. general perceptions and feelings around the world about america are obv at recent time lows. added to that the confusion and risks with visas and border enforcement. foreign entrants will be down

for muricans.. not sure you all have noticed but chit has gotten very expensive for middle and lower class. middle class is a sweet spot demo for WSOP. its hard to argue that ecomomic realties arent gonna creep into people decisions on going or not.

9700 last year.

about 4000 non murucan. that falls off by 25% so minus a 1000

5400 muricans. economic realities force 15% to be forced to stay home. 800 ish down

9700 - 1800 = 7900 entrants in main this

TY for attending my ted talk

For ****s sake why start with this cut rate pre game? Joe Stapleton is absolutely insufferable and Norman Chad stopped being funny 15 years ago.

Does every hand in this 10K take 5 minutes, I don't know how these guys play these events

No sometimes Blom bluffs, gets called by worse, then turbo mucks the best hand to speed things up

all the more reason not to exclusively stream hold'em. it's live stream poison. If this was edited down, it could be watchable, but come on

Dont watch this stuff, but guys that do this **** are absolutely ridiculous. 20-30 seconds max to make a decision outside of an all in or a big river bet coming at you.

I think its almost all for show.

Not true at all. Norman Chad was never funny.

Thats why LHE and mixed games are far superior for stream. Even PLO is quicker than NLH.

It always kills me that we made the literal worst form of poker the most popular.

Now dont be ridiculous....

It is the CADILLAC of poker. But in all seriousness, it involves by far the most bluffing and makes you guess far more than any other poker game. It can Def be the most boring though when youre card dead. So I guess it depends on your perspective.

So, im checking the monster stack leaderboard and see Kahbrel has 3M in chips? Thats gotta be bullshit right? It literally doesn't even seem possible.

Pokernews says the chip leader has 607k. They say Martin has 296k, so it looks like there’s an extra zero in his stack on the app.

Been watching the new coverage on youtube. I love the new format and way the covering. gg pokergo πŸ˜€

ali and nick still goated for coverage

Joe is getting long in the tooth. I'd think they know this and bring in some fresh faces for the early shift

Other than that, really enjoying the coverage

I havent been out to WSOP in years. but decided to play the main. a kid with a dream

I still think all the tables there should be poker etables by now !!!! gg me. another kid with another dream

Except at the WSOP when 90% of dealers are making mistakes on every street.

Bad in any game but 6x worse in PLO.

Is it really that bad so far? I remember last year hearing the same stuff but when I got there it wasn't that terrible. There would be the occasional dealer who'd be at 60% speed or make a silly blunder-but it wasn't every level or something.

The most egregious was in a 1-3 game a dealer said it was literally her first down ever and didnt know how to use the auto shuffler-but we taught her.

There's so many tables I guess its a crap shoot of getting one of the 10% of bad dealers. But as we spoke about before just take it in stride my friend.

The reason I don't like the new coverage is twofold.

1) It's all NLH
2) We won't get dedicated stream of one table start to finish. I've been watching these recently:

Those are a thing of the past :(. At least we will have the pokergo mixed game series yearly to get that type of great content.

And it looks like PokerGo took down all their 2025 WSOP content also :(. That had a great 10k LHE final table where IanJ dominated.

So far, we've gotten:
5/29: 25k HU NLH
5/30: 25k HU NLH
5/31: 25k HU NLH
6/1: 25k HU NLH
6/2: 10k NLH
6/3: 10k NLH
6/4: 10k NLH
Planned:
6/5: 25k NLH
6/6: 25k NLH
6/7: 25k NLH
6/8: Monster Stack NLH
6/9: Monster Stack NLH

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

World Series of NLH

It might not be what we want, but it's plainly what the people want. You don't see primetime broadcasts of field hockey or polo or whatnot. Broadcasters have to cater to their audience. The streams of other games are always just riddled with people complaining in the chat.

But as some others have suggested, it would be nice if they had a running stream of all the final tables, even if it's without commentary.

I always go in with low expectations. Esp in the $600 PLO- might be the worst event for dealers every year. But this year was truly a whole new level.

Like, I had no intention of even give a 1 star rating for not being able to calculate pot if youÂ’re half competent at everything else. But I was giving 1 star ratings roughly 4 in 5 dealers (so I guess technically 80%?) for never being able to read boards AND never knowing where the action is AND having basic poor dealing skills like flipping cards up too often or dealing cards too high, etc.

Also had a few dealers who were just plain rude- saw two dealers get in a catfight over who was actually supposed to be dealing and grabbing the sign-in box away from each other, which was kinda funny actually.

Don’t totally disagree even though I hate it. Have seen the stats of all the other streams for pretty much any mixed event vs NL- both tourney and cash, any stakes. NL always wins.

What I think WSOP needs to do is look at the bigger picture and stop thinking short term- like the most viewers now from their streaming. This is going to get old quick and poker is never going to grow from this. If anything, it’ll actually make it look even more boring to the public and dissuade people from wanting to play; at best, it grows a little.

They stream other fun games instead- it might not get a lot of viewers NOW, but it has a much larger upside to make casual viewers want to play something they normally wouldn’t. It’s an opportunity to disrupt the market and introduce and educate something brand new to them- just because they’re not asking for it now doesn’t mean we can’t try to show it to them.

I remember a few years ago when WSOP would put up a mixed game final table with no commentators and no fancy set up. It was fun to watch and listen to table talk with no interruptions

Or get Donnie and Remko in to do it and they can talk about food!

i couldn't get enough of this content. very happy PokerGo created this series

Possibly, but it’s not like Pot Limit Omaha is field hockey and NLH is NFL Football. You can’t go by the chat though, the few minutes I watched the other day was riddled with people saying generally they want mixed games and people arguing with wsop rep that they should be showing the O8b final table with Hellmuth.

While NLH might get more viewers that might not be clear cut. Players generally are casual if they only appreciate NLH but have to seek out wsop on YouTube. That’s somewhat niche and a casual might like edited versions better and/or not feel like watching 45 straight days of NLH.

And Hellmuth at 10K NL2-7 table would probably get more viewers than say a Day 2 of a random NLH tournament. The rep said to complainers that the schedule is made and there is zero flexibility.

It's obvious NLH is more popular with viewers, but I don't understand why they don't show some of the 10K final tables of other games since those on average have bigger names and more recognizable faces.

In relation to lower attendance of foreigners. I doubt that has anything to do with Trump admin or anything like that.

Poker players, both pros and recreationals, are a different breed than your average tourist. A significant factor instead may be the inflation of the last year, more expensive international flights, and the price of crypto YTD and one year ago which is significantly lower this summer.
