Is it I always figured it was valued less for it's literary qualities and more because of its historical/documentary importance.

Her syntax was good enough.

The emotional delivery and palpable heartbreaking moments was spectacular. The fact she did that with a non-mastery of the language actually heightens its aura.

We really need to go through this again? 😆 You're the one who felt the need to propagate theories by this guy. Nobody is buying your bullshit re Catholics any more than they are re your mutt.

Your evidence that I'm an antisemite is that I talked about something called Project Bluebeam and that the guy who proposed that idea once wrote a book that has a resemblance to an anti-semite book in its title?

I've probably met more Israelis than you and have never had a problem with a single one of them. One girl was having me take pictures of her once and she got a bit annoying because she didn't like them and wanted me to redo them. But otherwise they've been great.

I really don’t like how personal some of these discussions have become. Wish you guys would pull it back a bit.

I never said you were an anti Semite and in the ufo thread actually said I didn't think you were an anti Semite and suggested you check your sources before posting. You then bulshitted you didn;t know bluebeam guy had referenced Protocols and that he meant freemasons. Then I laughed at your flimsy excuse making ass.

Lol, Rick I 100% read it as his parents saying the quip when first viewing the post.

I'm not sure how it could be read any other way. If I was Gorgo, I wouldn't answer because I thought rick was making a really bad joke that should be left to die.

Even if I had read it at the time, I would've had no idea why he was asking it and would've just ignored it for sure, because I'm not devoting any of my energy to deciphering what that blithering idiot is on about this time.

Also, I was kind of annoyed at having to explain that there's a dam good reason I don't talk to my stupid ass parents. I certainly couldn't give a crap if rickhead approves.

Friends we choose, family is the luck of the draw.

Whoever said blood is thicker than water was the worst kind of correct, namely technically correct but figuratively wrong.

That it is not a comment aimed at my own family, but I have seen too many people ruined by trying to keep relations with people who do not deserve them.

Well said.

This obviously extends to bad relationships, but I think it applies to careers and more importantly, hobbies and daily life as well. We are creatures of habit, and the severity of our problems is often tied to the unconscious patterns we keep repeating.

In the last year or so, I’ve realized that boredom is my new best friend. Boredom isn’t emptiness, it’s a reset window. It sounds cheezy but I'll take boredom over anxiety any day.

Just going to drop this here so it gets the exposure it deserves.

I was wrong when I used to think Stalin was bad.

I much rather prefer that position than weaseling through some idiotic crises in which we have no choice but to enslave and kill for the greater good of humanity or some ****.

If your point that it is possible to be a bigger moron than Victor, then I guess I begrudgingly agree.

Ah c'mon now those gulags wre lovely with their silk sheets, top notch medical and education systems, nice guards, great food and zero hard labour . They were far more humane than AmeriKKKan nicks so I think Vic may be onto something here and Uncle Joe was unfairly demonised by the evil genocidal west.

I wrote a very long post about technology, society, where it was headed and the illusion of normalcy, but at the end it felt it was more about enjoying the sound of my own voice than making a point.

So instead I'll just say that people who who can take a step back in and be contemplative or bored these days must be doing something right, because that is not easy in this age of stimuli bombardment.

To be fair, Stalin was responsible for millions of his own citizens being starved to death, which may have contributed to a lower prison population.

when famines occur in non-Western nations, it is always the fault of their nefarious leaders and backwards cultures. when the British deliberately starve millions to death for profit in Ireland, India, Bangladesh then its just a tragic event with no culprits.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody here has argued that. Nice deflection attempt, though.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody here has argued that either. Again, nice deflection attempt.

Dumb request. Can't you see all those happy, smiling faces in the picture?

Beat the Nazis. Does that make you mad?

Good, now we're making progress!

Was FDR a bad man? He had something to do with beating the Nazis as well.

I wouldn't describe this Wikipedia article about the Great Hunger as a propaganda piece for the British government.
