Ok yeah I've never been to Ecuador so I forget where she was. A smaller place then obviously.

If we wanted to moderate the forum, the right solution probably would be to make the topic of Luckbox walking his dogs a no-fly zone for both Luckbox and his critics, at least for a time. The topic is better suited to another forum anyway, and there isn't any actual discussion--just Luckbox relentlessly trolling and others furiously taking the bait.

For the record, I am not in that universe.

That said, I think you showed a lot of class by reducing the ban to 24 hours, which further reinforces my opinion that you are an excellent mod.

This is politics AND society. Dogs are both a political and social issue.

Your personal decision about how and where to walk your dogs isn't much of a political or social issue, especially when your sole purpose for discussing the topic is to troll.

Trolls should be kept on leads

All sorts of issues have come up. We've got people who think dogs should be shot if they chase a squirrel, people who think dogs should never be off leash in public (condemning entire cultures) . And we haven't touched on pit bulls.

But sure. Mostly my worries right now when it comes to dogs are moose and Karens and I hope to not come across either when walking them. And the Karens here in this forum are plentiful.

Although I agree that some people here seem borderline hysterical about dog control, please don't insult everyone's intelligence by pretending that you give a near daily account of your dog walking because it leads to intereresting adjacent discussions. You are trolling to amuse yourself. You don't gaf about substantive discussion on adjacent topics.

Maybe just let the whole thing go and move on?

But 2. I certainly do care about any and all adjacent topics. It's been a thing for me long before I had my own dog, just seeing what small town dog culture is like in Colombia mostly where if you're bit by a dog it's your fault and not the dog's.

Bangkok (and basically all of Thailand) is around a 90% off leash city. I'd say about 1/2 the dogs roaming the streets have a home it's just lots of people let them wander outside like one would do with outdoor cats. You would love it, a handful of kids get mauled every year, you learn where the jumpy ones in your neighborhood are that run out into the street to bark at you while you're on your scooter, they form packs as dogs tend to do. Last year they had to quarantine multiple neighborhoods because of a rabies outbreak.
They're a scourge.

Seeing Luckbox post about dogs and the ensuing brigade of posters frothing at their mouths is hilarious.

It brings a smile to my heart that I'm able to amuse not just myself but other people as well.

I remember when Steelhouse calmly mentioned that the stock market would go up if Trump got elected and some of the most enlightened regs advocated that he was clearly trolling and should be banned.

My dog is living a better life than 95% of dogs in the US. Perhaps the dogs that are getting two + hours at dog beach every day (I know most of them) have it better but there won't be many.

And she has got to be in the top 1% of dogs her age for total miles walked. Was averaging around 8 per day in California and now in Colorado even with the frigid temperatures of being here in wintertime at 10,500 ft elevation, she's getting around those same 8 miles/day. Today will be more we've already done 6 and will do more later. Very few dogs have it better and I only put the dog beach regulars higher than her because dog beach is dog mecca.
