Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
I think that's an excellent guideline.
That said, YOU were the one who brought your girlfriend into the discussion, so not sure how LB (or anyone else) would know a priori that your girlfriend would be off-limits.
i found a new level of appreciation for you after you recently defended my honor in another thread
however, i think this is terrible reasoning - common sense should be that posters are fair game but their family and loved ones are off limits
the most tilted i've ever gotten here was in some thread where i casually referenced my gf (idr the details but like with coordi's situation it was directly related to the topic) and of course the responses weren't about me but people started attacking her instead
i got pretty upset about it, made a bunch of shame on you posts in regards to it
can't find it now but it was within the last year but i think coordi reacted the way most people would react in that situation
can you possibly imagine having a genuine conversation with another adult where you casually reference a loved one and they then begin insulting that person?

Thank you. Appreciate that.

I agree with you in general, but Coordi's reference to his girlfriend wasn't just a casual reference. Coordi gave details about a specific incident that his girlfriend experienced after running over a dog (which clearly wasn't her fault).
I of course agree that in general family members and significant-other's should be off-limits, but in my opinion the "gloves come off" if you're using the family member or boyfriend/girlfriend as an example to make a point.
Rule clarification question:
Geezer: My brother and I are both Republicans.
Commie: You and your brother are both idiots.
In this hypothetical example, did Commie violate the new rule?
Thanks.
Yes, geezer. You read the whole ****ing thread and then post what you want to say. You don’t go line by line and reply to every single person like a psychopath.
This is how forums work. Quit being annoying and people will take you more seriously.
Or just be a twat and eventually get permabanned again, whatever.
i'm a big fan of grunching, think it adds flavor to the thread
I still don't get it, unless you're saying/implying/suggesting that I read the whole thread to the end before making any posts in the thread. If that's your point, please just say that. Thanks.
I don't see a big deal about it, but basically all you have to do is click the + for each post you want to reply to and once you get done with the thread, click Post Reply. A window will open with all the posts you want to reply to in one response window and you can reply to each one individually without making 10 separate posts.
This layout I use doesn't have multiquote and sometimes I miss it
I'm not sure what multi-quote even is.
MY EYES
wat means red card
Thats a quick button to add infractions, not an infraction indicator
wait, there's a dark mode that has multiquote? don't hold out, say what it is so i can switch
I use Slick Fixed. Doesn't have a social bar, though.
Ah, thanks. Is the card underneath it an indicator? Could have sworn I saw a yellow under the red years ago when a mod posted a screenshot of mine.
It's not even the absence of geezer using multiquote. If it's not an option for some layouts, then whatever (although that's still easy enough to do yourself manually with quote tags).
My main annoyance is the rapid-fire responding to nearly EVERY single post since the last time he logged in. His need to weigh in on every individual comment is narcissistic and reads as a lot of noise.
But if it really doesn't bother others, I'm willing to relent that I'm probably just being cranky nitpick.
I probably deserve some red cards but people piss me off
