Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
I stand by my assertion that Lunchbox cracks toilet seats when invited to a person's home for a formal gathering. Do you look like Stavvy, brah?
Not a problem. I can read music, at least classical western music. I'm aware that there are different systems, I just didn't know what language had to do with it.
Hang in there. Tomorrow is only a day away.
I'm sure she is mostly referring to what you would think of as lyrics. Singing an aria in German is considerably different from Italian, for instance.
Of course, there are some musical expression indications that can be in various languages, though those are mostly in Italian by convention.
That said, there are minor differences in notation for Western music by locale (the usage of the note H, instead of B, in German comes to mind).
Yeah just keep driving at the dog. Genius. As we know, animals never get run over by cars, because they know what cars are and move out of the way.
Luckbox is right. He’s talking 5mph. Just barely rolling along. The dogs will move, you just can’t be going so fast that they can’t get out of the way when they try.

People have this impression that I'm out walking them on the interstate or something but it's dirt roads with a 25 mph speed limit in a neighborhood where most of the houses are unoccupied because it's winter at 10,500 ft elevation

Had 6 dogs today along with my neighbor and I was hoping with 6 dogs we could send at least one car into the ditch but we only had one car to deal with and it passed us just fine
A long time ago we went on vacation in Costa Rica and rented a car, and it was definitely a little nerve racking at first dealing with the dogs (and one time escaped cow) just walking around moving cars (We were at some volcano resort in the country). I was obviously worried I was going to hit a dog, but you just drive slow and they get out of the way.
Thanks. As far as we knew she was just a white German shepherd and about 70lbs.
The feeling is mutual. 😀
Yes, the reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.
Just found I was spending too much of my time on these forums, time I wanted to be doing other things, so I quit cold turkey. Once in a while, like this evening, I get pulled back by a PM but I usually just respond and then log off again without reading the forums. This time I allowed myself a vanity search and found these posts. 😃
So while I'm making my first post in almost a year, I might as well share a couple thoughts. I'll just say I'm very, very sad for all that's going on in the US now. Not great being the neighbour of all that nonsense, but much better than living there and being more directly impacted. I look forward to the pendulum swinging back some day and going back to normal with travel there again.
I hope you're all doing well, whoever's still around that I'm acquainted with. Maybe I'll do another vanity search or check back in for replies to this at some point in the coming weeks, months, or years, but I make no promises. 😀
Look after yourself; best wishes for better times ahead. ♥
Nice to hear from you, Bobo

If they were remote control cars I'd probably just run them over, if you were being a dick about not getting them off the street when you saw me coming. My guess is you probably did allow the guy room to pass and he freaked out over the unleashed dogs, forgot 4wd doesn't mean spikes come out of the tires....

I always try to get them out of the way but the biggest concern is always the one dog (the second closest in the picture below) who actually chases cars. Her I have to call to me and hold. Because I'm holding her the rest of the dogs have to pretty much fend for themselves. My dog will move out of the way but she doesn't really care about cars positively or negatively so you just have to drive slow and she'll move.
In both instances where cars drove into the ditch they were fully stopped then decided to drive into the ditch because they aren't from here and didn't know that you can't drive into a snow filled ditch and expect to easily get out.

Had 6 of them again yesterday considering starting a service where we send cars into ditches for a fee.
Why do you have so many dogs? If these were cats, you'd be called crazy.
Only one dog is my dog (the husky).
The wolf-dog is my roommate's.
The two labs are my neighbor's.
The golden retriever is my neighbor's mom's who is staying with her temporarily.
The other dog we don't know what it is: maybe some Australian shepherd/German shepherd is my roommate's friend's dog who is staying with us temporarily.

Glad that the reports of your demise turned out to be fake news (to borrow a phrase).
Remember that Lagtight idiot? Crossnerd kindly let me back here to play in the sandbox.
Be well!
They won’t get run over because every normal person will take extreme measures to avoid running over dogs, like pulling their car off an embankment
My girlfriend works in animal care and ran over a couple of dogs and she still has ptsd from them bolting out in front of her car going 45 mph
But lockbox is incapable of putting himself in other people’s shoes. We have known this for a decade.
