It is probably a safe bet that Trump is not a good vessel to your got your views through politically. He might have the support of a lot of people who want what you want, but the political direction he represents will not deliver those things in a good way. At best you'll end up with a hollow shell that only has the veneer of conservatism.

ICE agents are acting thuggish in large part because they are being encouraged to do so.
I will never understand any sentence that begins with "I didn't realize until recently that Trump was . . ." Trump's personality and goals are more transparent than any president in my lifetime. Sadly, that transparency isn't a selling point because Trump's personality and goals are both horrible.
