I see Rice someday living in an abandoned mine in a ghost town, only leaving the abandoned mine under the cover of darkness, to forage for food and scare the tourist into hastily running away, possibly leaving behind their food and gear.
The biggest need for a ghost town is securing a well or some sort of water source such as rain collecting system or 1000 gallon storage tank to have Herbs and Rye haul in water.
ELD could then stock the cave and mine with the finest Basmati rice and sardine cans.
