When I first read this, I thought you were saying mongidig had a previous account with the username Paintrapist, which would have been more than a little concerning.

It's concerning even if it isn't mono.

What is concerning is how the beta libs create stories from nothing that they want to believe. I originally said that I had cleaned my house and painted as a joke. It was simply an exaggeration of making my house look great for the lady if she happened to stay there. These lunatics turned it into a date rape bit. When I first came to these forums I mentioned that I had voted for Trump...These lunatics immediately starting calling me a MAGA/ Nazi. I defended Andrew Tate once for a quote that was taken out of context...These idiots started calling me a misogynist/incel.

I'm actually one of the more reasonable posters on these forums. The neurotic liberals have created the Mongidig we know today.

I was being somewhat tongue in cheek. I can't think of a mechanism that would allow logic to throw an exception or to segfault in real life...

Exactly, there isn’t a mechanism like that because logic isn’t an executing system.

As an analogy, English grammar doesn’t “throw an error” when you say “the king of France is bald” because it’s a perfectly grammatical sentence whose problem is semantic, not syntactic. Logic plays a similar role: it isn’t about handling failures, it’s about fixing meaning befrehand so we can reason at all.

In other words, grammar doesn’t exist to prevent people from speaking nonsense; it exists to make sense of what’s said. Same with relational logic.

This is the moderation thread. Nobody cares about your logic discussion. Nobody cares about God. Nobody in here cares about what is going on in the UK. There are other threads for these discussions. We need to get this crap out of here.

Nobody cares about a handful of nerds trying to outsmart each other. This place is pathetic.

The logic discussion that "nobody cares about" now has over 100 posts and seven participants.

Just sayin'.

You are certainly more reasonable than BobtheSlob, craig1120 and SRM imo.

(That said, I'm told that SRM is an excellent poster in another forum.)

It's more than that.

If we say 'unicorns have horns' then that obviously means something. Less obviously, so might 'the king of France is bald' We can't just dismiss it all because some logics or analysis can't cope. Much work has been done on logics that better capture meaning.

Obviously this is doesn't begin to touch on the very hard problem of null pointers and the importance grammar is way overated as you probably realise if you use an LLM.

When they make stuff up (I dont follow you closely enough to specifically comment but I know it's not uncommon) remember that it's about them not you. Some people seem to need to believe stuff.

This is a great point.

Haha, this is total bullshit. You gave various reasons for painting your house but this is the first time you've claimed it was a joke. It's abundantly clear you did actually paint your house. You once defended Andrew Tate? My dude, you referred to him as "Top G" and you have certainly mentioned him a lot more than once. And as for voting for Trump, well, I think that speaks for itself.

You are a lying little turd just like the rest of your little MAGA chode friends here.

Indeed they do, like how you just believe the lying little MAGA turd straight away here, chez.

There you go. Making somethign up that appears to about me but is in fact all about you

Although I allow you are just trolling. Maybe you enjoy the tickling you will likely get from some of the kiddies.

When I said "Top G" and "The Don" I was playing the part you all gave me. I've mentioned a couple times the paint thing was a joke but you people see what you want to see. I've also mentioned many times that I am not MAGA. Why would I say I am not MAGA if I was MAGA?

You've been punked!

The other forum is a Beta circle jerk. I've never seen a more emotionally fragile forum. Have you ever heard of a sports forum where somebody was called out because they were being "incendiary"? People talk **** on sports forum so yeah you might encounter a little incendiary talk. Do you think SRM can be "incendiary"? The MOD over there loves him for some reason. SRM has called for people to kill themselves but he doesn't get in trouble there. The MOD over there say's I haven't broken any rules but still takes action against me because he is spineless and does what his friends tell him too do. I won't use his name yet because I'm giving him a chance to do what is right.

I have taken a screen shot of this in case a MOD wants to retaliate against me.

Sure, different logics capture meaning differently. My only claim was that logic isn’t an executing system, so runtime metaphors don’t really apply. Grammar was just an analogy for that role.

I kind of think the difference here is like architecture versus engineering. Logic is like a building’s blueprint: it sets the structure and rules. Engineering is about making sure elevators don’t crash and walls hold up.

by mongidig

I don't agree with everything Andrew Tate say's but he is spot on quite often.

Guys, mongidig wants to make it clear that he isn't an Andrew Tate fanboy. He's just a guy who thinks Andrew Tate is "spot on" about a lot of stuff. What's wrong with that?

I get you're point. I phrased it as hard vs trivial problems

Just if the logic system can't cope with language that has meaning then that's a limitation of the particular logic system not the language. A lot of work is done on both understanding how meaning/language works and in developing logic systems that can deal with it.

He's just playing the role that everyone ascribes to him because he's permanently playing that role. Punked!

What would be wrong with that? Why are liberals so against other opinions? There are a lot of things you people think are "Spot on" that others may find disgusting, yet I'm not gonna judge you on it. Also, I was playing the part of the Andrew Tate fanboy back then.

Got ya!

I don't seem to be playing that role anymore.

Cool. So just playing the abject moron role now?

He talked about getting a girl drunk to give himself a better chance of having sex I don’t know why he’s trying to make it about the paint thing now. The paint thing was weird but that was the rapey part.

Well I'm thinking from the way things turned itt, "nobody cares about logic in discussions" might be a better read.

People have different opinions. Therefore we can't draw any conclusions about someone based on the opinions they hold. Got it. Makes perfect sense.

Also, I was playing the part of the Andrew Tate fanboy back then.

Why? Are you now claiming that you are a pure troll who everyone should ignore?

In my opinion, Mongo is a coward who got called out on his nonsense,, so now he's pretending he wasn't serious rather than admit he said dumb stuff.

After this row dies down, he'll be back with his 'serious' posts.

You just got up at 5am

Getting up at 5am >>> spending all Xmas day on 2+2 ranting about Jews.

Seriously, for the sake of your mental health, take a day off. The Jews will still be there on Boxing Day.
