I mean even the biggest LeBron haters will say he's one of the best floor raisers of all time.

Lebron is the best ever at charging at the basket

As a live-dribbler, he has the goat off-arm/command with the ball (dribbling form)

He needs great form to be dribbling at such a big size.

Otoh, he's basic to beginner in other categories, such as being unable to run and score off screens, or being a self-admitted beginner at pulling up off a hard dribble going right (basic stuff).. No turnaround jumper plus beginner head faking (trash fundamental and feetwork)

Lebron doesn't play 5 positions and has been the primary ballhandler for every team he's ever been on... As a high-scoring primary ball-handler (ball-dominator), Lebron cannot run the best brand of ball - elite ball movement, aka Spurs, Warriors, Nuggets (all the teams that ragdoll him).. This inability to run the best brand of ball puts lower ceilings on his teams, such as a lottery record against Finals teams.

He had a one-time run in 07' against trash comp, and it was when everyone was winning the East with 1-star teams (Iverson, Dwight, Kidd twice)... The Spurs confirmed that a 22 on 35% player won the East (and 6 TO's per game).

He also "floor-raised" the Cavs to 45 wins by Year 5 (2008), until he received the all-star spacing that his driving game needed in 09'.

People also forget that Lebron was lottery in 05' with the East all-star center on his team, and then acquired a player that was better than 1990 Pippen to make the 06' Playoffs (and great coaching).. So Lebron never had bad rosters or low seeds for his entire time in Cleveland.. His first low seed was 2021 (1st Round loss).

Lebron was also lottery in 2019 despite a great cast of Caruso, Ingram, Zubacs, Kuzma, Hart, KCP, Rondo and more

Ultimately, it's statistical fact that primary ballhandlers score mostly unassisted by teammates.. This means that high-scoring primary ball-handlers like Lebron have a high volume of unassisted buckets that leave teammates standing in spot-up roles more than normal (more assisted buckets).. Essentially, Lebron's ball-dominant skillset increases everyone's assisted buckets/spot-up role, which stalls young players, thereby needing ready-made stars to win (can't win organically).

Yeah Lebron clearly caused Reeves to be injured for 2 weeks.

Jordan never had an age 40 season. He had already retired 3 times and was having his 8th non playing year.

What if the good 3 point efficiency of LeBron's teams was a result of his style of play, and Jordan's teams sucked at shooting 3's as a result of the way Jordan played.

Lebron received a bunch of renowned 3-point shooters like Korver, Kyrie, Mike Miller, Ray Allen, JR Smith, Danny Green, Battier, KCP and MANY more

MJ never had a small fraction of this shooting .. He didn't need it though because his game didn't depend on driving like Lebron.. MJ could just shoot over packed paints

Btw, the Warriors' dynasty represents the best 3-point shooting of the era and they move the ball - they had arguably the goat ball movement.abd also high assist teams...

History shows that Duncan and Curry's teammates went off via a ball movement style, while Lebron's style usually results in under-performing teammates and requests for more help.. The triangle is more like the Spurs/Warriors and their offenses are hybrids of the triangle

Lebron has destroyed this team.

He destroyed Austin Reaves, who was really a great story.. But now Reaves is off rhythm physically and mentally with LeFossil commanding touches.

LeFossil is showing how stats in today's hands off, open paint, beginner format mean nothing.. I honestly don't respect even Jokic's stats as much as say, Shaq, Malone, Hakeem, etc

I will agree that LeBron is absolutely terrible on the defensive end this year. He needs to have his minutes reduced and Vanderbilt and Smart need to to take those minutes. But currently Luka and Reeves (and Ayton) are dealing with injuries and that isn't helping.

Lebron can probably be very good at 20-25 minutes per game right now. But playing 35 minutes a game at his age is something he needs to admit he can't handle.

The mind and body are connected - that's all I'll say about the Luka and Reaves ' injuries.

Ultimately, we know is that everything was fine until Lebron returned.

Now the season is going to ****.

Remember just a few weeks ago, the Lakers were riding high with the best 1-2 punch in the game - Reaves was easily All-NBA and even Rui/Ayton were killing it.

But then Lebron returned....

This killed Reaves... The defense also cratered because teammates are more reluctant to give a full effort when there's 1 old guy that CAN'T and might screw it up anyway... No one wants to play hard for 20 seconds only to watch Lebron blow his assignment.

Btw, back when the Luka/Reaves attack was in full effect - those Lakers had a potent offense that wore down opponents... Facing worn-out opponents lowers the team's defensive requirements, so that's why defense wasn't AS big an issue back then like it is now with LeOld back

The injuries are irrelevant - Reaves simply craters alongside Lebron, while the stats show that the Lakers are a horrifically bad team when Lebron is on the court. For these reasons, the Lakers can't wait to get rid of him .. And how much was your grandad into the Lakers?
