8-1. We've got 'em right where we want 'em.

I do feel like we win here a decent % of the time

elephant - 3
messages - 4
wingtip - unlimited
fungus - unlimited
powder - 2

Belt
Bowl
Collar
Flood
Hole
Microscope
Pants
Press
Puppet
Rome
Shower
Spell
Superhero
Wish

Mammoth
Spider
Sound
Life
Delta
March
Ash
Makeup

Screen

Hide
Cheese

suspender - unlimited

Suspender:

Belt
Pants

Our previous guesses:

Microscope
Spell
Press
Flood
Shower
Hole

That's 8 words and we need 7. So we just leave off hole and ship it?

wonder why suspender and not suspenders; not usually singular

but yeah, 2 suspender words (isn't cluing for just one word with that clue) and then our list in order

Yeah I don't think we can ever not guess two here.

The singular makes me think he is maybe avoiding pants and we're supposed to guess puppet instead?

I don't understand how you get from suspender to puppet

Marionettes?

Using the singular form has to be deliberate since nobody ever uses it that way, so I don't see this being the clue for belt+pants.

But marionettes have many points of contact don't they, not just one? Going singular wouldn't go there?

If it's suspender, not suspenders, to avoid pants, then it has to avoid belt as well, right?

If he clues suspenders, then we guess pants/belt 100% of the time. Pants is plural, so I would guess he's just trying to avoid us guessing that while still keeping belt in play with this clue. Could be wrong of course, but that's how I'm reading it.

Suspender is something that suspends

Over a hole or puppet makes sense

Hole is last one on our list so if it was for hole he woulda just done buckle - unlimited for just belt

With it being singular rather than plural, it’s likely not for pants; you’d never have just one suspender to hold up pants and suspenders is literally right there, so choosing to not plural means pants isn’t ours

Microscope
Spell
Press
Flood
Shower
Belt
Puppet
Bottles

?

I think this whole thing is really weird and feels FPSy to me. But if you're both dead sure do it.

that's what I'm currently on

I just don't think he ever goes suspender if it's belt+pants

I have a hard time imagining a spymaster thinking for sure they see I said suspender, not suspenders, so they don't go belt/pants.

That's too much of a fine line.

And then going straight to puppet?

Maybe suspension for belt/puppet. There are no car words on the board?

Well if you wanna bold up to belt we can debate the last word if still alive. I think we all agree on those?

It is no list, technically that's probably best anyway.

Microscope
Spell
Press
Flood
Shower
Belt

All blue

There is a lot of nuance in this game, and I feel quite sure that insanity would not be so careless as to leave the s off the end by accident. It's not a fine line...it completely changes the clue. Would be like cluing "pant" for jeans + belt or something.

There are also other ways to hit pants+belt, whereas I can't really think of a better way to hit belt+puppet?

I think it'd be a really risky clue to do what you're saying. Maybe I'm all wet, but if I'm insanity I don't touch suspender with belt/pants on the board unless I'm really really desperate.

A suspender is a thing you clip to your pants in place of a belt. The fact that they're usually worn in pairs doesn't change that when you think of a suspender that's USUALLY what you think of.

What would you clue tho? It's clear he had some hard combos to clue for this game. Just before we got fungus for for microscope+shower even though he had to know that cheese would be guessed first.

When has anybody ever referred to suspenders in the singular?
