Yall better hope we don’t declare war on Venezuela because the victory lap I will take will be legitimately insufferable

why? you think the Dems dont support stealing the oil? Ill give you one guess who instituted the crippling sanctions meant to topple the Democratically Elected government there.

Dan Bongino is quitting less than 12 months into his appointment after accomplishing literally nothing

That’s better than most high profile people in the Trump admin.

You're going to celebrate if we go to war with Venezuala? Is the war worth the points of some covo here? Maybe I'm missing some context.

An all out war with them isn't anything at all like a war - not even a Gulf War not of anything at all in relation.

We highlight, right click and hit delete.

afaics usa hasn't declared war since WWII

trump is 'different' but declaring war seems pretty unlikely. At least not unless it's a really big one that could avoid an election.

I'm just saying that things are different, and people tend to gravitate back when they think of war to periods that aren't applicable now.

We don't take over someone's house by sending troops inside room by room, we turn off their bank accounts, shut off their internet so their candy crush doesn't load up anymore.

Also, the oil isn't even an issue like it was 20 years, and even if it was, Trump wants to produce it here anyway.

If I can’t enjoy the state of things then I’m at least going to revel in the fact that all of this is so transparently level 1 **** that should be incredibly obvious to everyone

Smart move by him.
Take a 3 year vacation and then reboot his normal grift about the deep swamp and how he was fighting behind the scenes to get the Epstein files leaked the whole time and how he's lucky to even be alive to tell his story.

Hmm

I took coordi to be saying not that he would be happy about a war with Venezuela but rather that he would be insufferable about reminding the forum that he had correctly predicted it would occur.

Correct. Trump has no interest in checks and balances. Unless he saw some personal advantage, there is zero chance that he would respect a check that has been consistently ignored by executives from both parties for most of the last century.

I think you're misreading the post. He'll be insufferable because his prediction was correct, not because he supports a war.

I understood that but it doesn't make it not a bizarre and disturbing thing to say.

How so?

Do you really have a hard time understanding why doing victory laps when wars start is disturbing or do you just want me to explain it for fun?

edit: I'm not going to hold myself to a higher standard than the president of the united states

I like this idea that the two people who seemingly have the biggest issue about my comment are centrists who soft pedaled Trump and made flippant comments about Kamala while I told them they were being really dumb about the whole thing for a year or so

Maybe yall could start by admitting you were just flat out wrong on this one

I can only imagine what the country would be like if this were a widely observed standard for personal and public behavior.

Probably not great! But you can find me speaking directly to culture from the top on multiple occasions and how Republicans hold random (possibly) leftists to a higher standard than they hold Trump and how toxic that is to society

Use of the word "victory lap" notwithstanding, I don't think saying "I told you so" a bunch of times if you correctly predicted that bad thing X would happen is tantamount to celebrating X or being happy that X occurred.

right. the famously anti-war Kamala Harris.

Your comment obviously was intended to be flippant. I was just pointing out how insane it would be if that were the actual standard to which we all held ourselves.

White Guy twitter has been unequivocally one shot by their own mediocrity conflicting with their deluded self worth

The first sentence of the article is the author quite literally admitting that they are a lifetime loser

lol, you of all people are going to run to the fainting couch?

What's that supposed to mean? I've never once celebrated war or people being killed.
