I think Tatum is almost the perfect candidate to make a good recovery from an Achilles. He is naturally thin. He doesn't play in a way that puts a lot of stress on his body. He relies more on a knack for shot-making than explosive movement. I don't know if he will be exactly the same player, but I imagine he will be very close.

It’d be a serious mistake to bet on JB over Tatum from this point on

JB isn't a top 25 player in the league, whereas Tatum is single digits in basically every model that's good. Might be forced to use JB as the centerpiece though because you'd have to find a team dumb enough to take his contract.

And both KD and Tatum tore their right Achilles, which is probably a bit better for guys who are right-handed and jump more often off their left foot (especially on drives).

It'll take a 3 team deal to get it done. Mitch will likely be shipped out with some type of big man also coming back (from the 3rd team). The Knicks won't want to pay him in the offseason OR won't be able to. Leon Rose isn't going to lose him for nothing.
