I'm not sure this is correct. Some children are very disturbed for reasons that aren't entirely clear or that have nothing to do with abusive or reckless behavior by the adults in their lives. (That said, I obviously agree that abuse greatly increases the chances that a young child will have severe behavioral problems.) In any case, what formula72 is obviously correct:It's r

So what your saying is a child doesn't collectively understand their actions at such a young age . Hmm

surely there's enough nuance in the world to understand the difference between a child who pushed a classmate down the stairs not fully grasping the very dire consequences vs bringing a gun to school, threatening to shoot people with it and then pointing it at a classmate or teacher and saying i don't like you and then shooting it

It's hard to remember what it's like to be six but I think I would have had a lot more idea that being pushed down a flight of stairs would hurt than I would have had any idea what a gun would do. At six, guns went bang as long as you shouted 'bang'

Chomsky put behaviorism to bed in the late 1950s but some people still want to hold onto it.

The reason there's a legal age limit for criminal responsibility of 10 in the UK (except Scotland which is 12) is because a younger kid isn't expected to know right from wrong all the time.

33 States don't have such a concept. lol USA again.

This is sort of what I meant by mirroring. Gun violence is not intuitive, children don’t know what those things are or how they are used unless an adult shows them, either through behavior or media.

Kids see lots of things on TV including cowboy films and cartoons etc where people or characters are firing guns at each other. I suppose you could call that "adults showing them" gun violence but it only becomes a huge social problem with people calling for the state murder of young kids in countries where there are many guns in private ownership.

I would posit that you are a better candidate for euthanization than any six year old…

Do I have your permission to create a "Who are the Best Candidates for Euthanization thread?" 😀

by chillrob

You've lost me with most of this post; I really don't understand what you're getting at.

But of course there is something to protect from even if the killer isn't fully aware of whst he has done.
If not, you should be happy for your child to have a pet crocodile.

Comparing a crocodile to a six year old that kills someone is like comparing a Terry Schaivo to someone that’s asleep.

They just aren't going to release CPI and Job reports for October because the numbers are so bad

Fully understand in the same way an adult does? Yes. That's what I'm saying. Is that controversial in your opinion?

No its common sense yet when we get into trans affirming treatments we throw that rule out the window

0.00% of people support gender affirming treatments (where treatment means any form of medication) for pre-pubescent children.

So this is a lie.

Imagine how low the support would be if they called it cutting it your kids' dick off.

Heh. That did make me realise that I should also have included any sort of medical procedures not just medication though.

Also I am specifically referring to cases of trans kids as well - it's actually quite common for intersex children to have medical procedures to affirm a gender for them (frequently as babies) but that is something that supporters of trans people normally strongly disagree with.

Six year old kids are getting gender reassignment surgery or taking hormones because they are self-identifying as transgender?

I don’t think there’s any protocol that has a child medically transition prior to when their natural puberty would hit. So 6 year old probably not.

Of course they aren’t. But, that won’t stop the idiots from pretending it’s happening. More fake outrage to be mad about while the oligarchy rapes and pillages.

It was a rhetorical question in response to Captain Whataboutism. I obviously knew that wasn't happening.

As far as I know, this is common practice already among parents of infant boys. Well, at least a piece of the dick.

A child of that age only has the ability to mirror the adults around them.

This is correct and yet this forum, just a couple of years ago, had a so-called expert psychiatrist claiming that children younger than six have unique insight into their “true gender”.

And I was treated as the insane one for questioning our resident expert.

The current left will never fully recover the credibility they lost on the gender debate.

True
And yet,
Here comes the derail which I won’t feed but just saying …,
Kids all know all the implication of sex changes and what being a girl is or being a boy …

once again, you'd look like less of a fool here if you actually read the case in question - it was entirely premeditated

I don't think wishing death on another poster is altogether OK.
