President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Compared to second-term Reagan, who really didn't know where he was, who he was or what he was doing or saying half the time, Trump's not that bad yet. And as far as we know he doesn't get hog-whimpering drunk on brandy and start demanding the nuclear 'football' as Nixon tended to do of an evening. If he deteriorates, we will of course depend on the people around him to say 'Ye
How would you ever be able to distinguish a lying pos like trump from a senile lying pos of trump ?
He doesnt make much sense in both cases ?
By how ridiculous his lies would become ?
Like Β« they eat the dogs , they eat the cats Β» ?
Beside insane reaction of trump , I have no idea how you could judge his state of mind ?
Now he just shutdown trade talks with Canada , Β« its best friend Β» over a freakin commercial …
At least before , he tried to cover it up with stupid fentanyl narrative or w.e else .
So because of a commercial, the guy about to hurt the economy that will affects maybe millions of Americans and canadians…
Seem to me we already there in how facked up trump already is shrug .
I donβt question your competence. Iβm certain youβre incompetent. Low performing low education rurals are getting crushed by Trumps policies and have decreasing life expectancy. Cletus can keep voting for tariffs to bring prices down and heβll continue to be one of the few groups in the western world doing worse than they were 50 years ago.
Low performing low education folks city and rural are being crushed by both parties policies . Life expectancy is going down for many Americans and CDN's because the obesity and cancer rates keep going up and healthcare for many is barely accessible
Kinda hard to both sides this when Obamacare was the most significant improvement for low education Americans in 50 years and republicans spent the last 2 decades trying to get rid of it. A bunch of rural fats voting for an obese that thinks exercise is unhealthy is probably not helping a culture that already is of lower intelligence and performance than normals.

The Affordable Care act is like the Big Beatiful bill or the inflation reduction act they sound good but are total bs
If itβs so affordable why do you need subsidies ?
Herpaderp dee derp durp

The Republicans have **** on affordable healthcare from day 1. Of course it isn't ideal. It's much more important to do this apparently.

[victor]bernie supports genocide, save the corporations[/victor]
[victor]ok maybe bernie doesn’t support genocide, but he supports giving ICE money, save the corporations[/victor]
[victor]fine, MAGA[/victor]
bernie definitely supported the genocide, until like 2 weeks ago
Bernie didn't stop being a Zionist. He's always supported the extermination project of Israel.

The subsides are why they are affordable.
If Obamacare is BS why do even low performing low education rural states that agree with you that Trump > Harris, and that calculus and algebra are the devil's work still vote to expand Obamacare access despite republicans in their state fighting to stop it?

I was under the impression the subsidies didnβt start till COVID .
Iβve heard what Americans pay and the deductibles and yikes.

It doesn't appear you know anything at all about the ACA. If you're going to have such strong opinions about it, you should probably get the slightest clue as to what it is.

Your mistake is thinking your average trump supporter will ever not have DEEPLY OUTRAGED POSITIONS based on actual knowledge and not anything other than what the angry white guy on the tv told them
Hey be critical of what I say but when a lefty poster here says Obama deported 3 million criminals not just regular folks your silent as he is on your side who cares if his facts are wrong When someone hear says that 200 million for the ballroom could go to healthcare not a peep that Trump says private donations will pay for it . Lets be clear I think Trump is bad president but
Trump saying something means absolutely nothing at this point. I do question the competence of anyone who thinks Trump's promises mean anything at all.
He's also suing the DOJ (his own DOJ) for $230 million, which he can tell his appointees to approve and then pay it straight to him.
I think the average US voter does care that a third of the White House has been demolished. And every Trump supporter would be up in arms if it was done by a Democratic president.
I'm kind of amazed Trump managed to find contractors to do the demolition. Those guys will get arrested for....something... before they get paid.
What am I saying, before they find out he's gonna stiff them out of the bill.
PS. I guess he might be using his own company? In which case they'll probably get 10x the usual rate for such a job. lol ethics.
It’s not a 100% hit rate, but a general rule of thumb is when the other side tells you to stop talking about something cause nobody cares, it may be a good idea to double down.

Eh. Trump doesnβt stiff people when using someone elseβs money to pay.
turns out the demolition company is ACECO

Most Republican politicians have been trying to get rid of it but Republican voters have come out for it in states where their politicians didn't approve the advancement of Medicaid to people 130% above the poverty line and below. With the Federal Government paying 90% of the expenses between 100% and 130%.

The ACA has done two life altering things for people in the US.
The first is to allow people with pre-existing conditions to be able to get Health Insurance (prior to ACA all insurance companies refused to cover pre-existing conditions after people signed up for health insurance. This didn't apply to companies that bought health insurance for all full time employees).
The second is to encourage states to increase the number of people on Medicare. Which 41 states have done.
A study about 15 years ago showed that 1 in 800 people who are not insured will die each year as a result. The study looked at MA, which under Mitt Romney had basically done the ACA where 97% of their population was insured and the study compared the survival rate in MA with other counties in the country with similar demographics.
The point of the ACA wasn't to make health insurance affordable, it was to make sure people could actually get it for pre-existing conditions. The result for the open market is that insurance companies had to increase insurance prices because a lot of healthy people weren't buying insurance. The ACA though did have a cost for people not buying insurance - I believe those people lost their federal tax deductions (which basically cost people about $2,500 a year if I remember correctly). So a lot of people chose to get insurance because of that. That was the one thing that Donald Trump had removed from the law (via the Supreme court).
The subsidies were to make it possible for people to actually afford buying health insurance on the open market. When Biden increased the subsidies it meant that millions of more people chose to get Health insurance. Which saves lives.
What Trump has done is take health insurance and Medicaid away from about 17 million people. This will result in the deaths of about 21,000 people each year. And the funny thing is that it will primarily affect poor people in rural districts of all states. So a lot of Republicans.
Apparently the Republican party is less pro life and more lets help the rich get richer.
