The immigration bill was a compromise bill to try to get asylum seekers processed.

It's not renovating. They completely knocked down the east wing. Nothing left. And it was the newest part of the building, built during WWII.

Ok, I seem to have found where this misleading info came from. There was a White House renovation project ongoing while Obama was in office, but he had nothing to do with it.
In 2008 a report made by the Bush administration recommended needed infrastructure repairs, and the funds were allocated by congress. The way things are supposed to happen. The repairs were made while Obama was in office, because it was a slow project.
