The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet
The panic is completely unjustified and stirred up by right wing politicians fearmongering. The ruling is very clear. It does NOT affect individual people's property rights. If there was a situation where courts adjudicated a future land claim as belonging to indigenous people, then the responsibility for restitution would fall to the crown NOT individual people. That is, nobod
Was watching Global last night and they ran this story as well and the Mayor mailed out letters stating that property owners may have issues. I never thought of Global News as right wing fear mongering more left wing fear mongering
The Front Bench very critical of Pierre on the RCMP thing . They also talked about how Canada has 100% tariff's on Chinese EV's at the request of the USA to protect the auto sector which the USA is trying to destroy
Damn another right wing politician fear mongering
You seem confused. News organizations report the things that politicians say and do. That doesn't make them right wing if they quote a right wing politician or left wing if they quote a left wing politician. Ultimately this is a case absolutely destined for the supreme court, so I would suggest patience. What I'm informing you of is that in the ruling it makes clear that responsibility for restitution lies with the crown, not individual property owners.
Another auto plant bites the dust . This government bet on EV's will haunt them
Ya that's probably fair. Trump double ****ed us on that one, by first eliminating the US from doing anything at all to incentivize EVs and then putting a hard trade war on canadian auto industry. When your auto industry is built to support an integrated market and one day the market disintegrates, it's painful. There are some who want to put the utter nail in the coffin and important cheap government subsidized chinese EVs.

You do realize we’re subsidizing EVs as well ?
They just make better affordable ones that more folks would buy which you should support in the climate change challenge
Sure. Not to the same degree, but yes. You just can't care about both. If your goal is to try and give the death strike when our industry is down, then flooding the markets with chinese EVs today would be a great way to do that. Or, we can do what we can to preserve the auto industry through the current trump era.
hahahaha wegurs that IS funny!
An exact quote of something he said a week ago that he also said before? Probably not and I don't care to search everything Pierre ever said. But he was certainly critical of Liberals, NDP and RCMP's handling of many scandals.
There is obviously a massive gulf between being critical of politicians and claiming the RCMP are covering up illegal activity that should result in jailtime. Notice how there is a massive uproar now about Poilievre's comments today? That's because he went further today than he did before.
That said he seems to be desperately backpedalling and trying to refine his remarks that no no no of course he wasn't saying Trudeau should be jailed. I figure he should just own it at this point but ok snivelling is par for the course.
Then he should surely share it! If he has found new evidence that the RCMP was covering something up that is an absolutely damning accusation, and he should immediately share the evidence with the world to evaluate. To date he has shared nothing.

Why is there a massive gulf? Again it's not like the RCMP is squeaky clean.

I don't think he backpedalled at all. It's funny you seem more outraged at Pierre then if there actually was criminal actions or arguing why they weren't criminal.

I think Andrew Scheer mentioned some of that in his interview you commented on.

It was VERY strongly implied previously that he was saying Trudeau should be jailed. Now he is backpedalling and saying he didn't think Trudeau should be jailed. And he stopped using the word "cover up" for a thing the RCMP allegedly did (with no evidence). If you want to call it "woefully irresponsible language at first that he is now clarifying" instead of "backpedal" well sure.
Both things can be true at the same time. We litigated the Trudeau era scandals 5 or 10 years ago. What faces us today is a conservative politician pulling a page from the Trump playbook and implying there is deep state cover ups and his political opponents should be jailed. That would require extraordinary evidence:
I didn't hear a shred of evidence of a "cover up". Can you detail the evidence if you believe - like your dear Poilievre - that there is some?

But polievre is ?
You couldn’t smell the bs from trump , obviously u couldn’t from polievre …

He try the trump strategy .
It backfired .
But then again in Canada , education is cheap to come by compare to the US .

Lol, he was on some random podcast. "Woefully irresponsible language" LMAO. Get a life

I don't particularly like Poilievre very much.

Does it matter that it a random podcast? I don't think right wing politicians should casually toss around allegations of cover ups in the RCMP without very strong evidence. Just because you are in safe territory of a right wing podcast that isn't going to push back on you, this trumpian move is not a healthy one and its a shame to see him go down this path. I don't really know what you are trying to say in the second sentence, maybe try to calm down a bit from your Dear Leader being in the hot seat and try it again?

I find it funny that your so outraged with this but not a peep out of you when
Trudeau interfering in a criminal investigation
Kicking strong minded women out of the party
sexual assault at a concert
painting his body black and stuffing a banana down his pants and dancing like a monkey
Going surfing on the first National Reconciliation day
Dressing up when visiting India looking like a fool
All the broken campaign promises
Arrive Can app

Yes, because it was a long form discussion where he was answering a question and you are making it out like he was shouting it at a campaign rally, in the house of commons or something. Me calm down? You are the one flipping mad that Poilievre bashed the RCMP and Trudeau on a random YouTube podcast while starting the whole pearl clutching routine about Poilievre and Trump because an election might come.

This defense is just pathetic. Where he said the stupid thing doesn't matter. What matters is that it was really stupid. Obviously.
I get it, you're a 2020 truther so you probably LOVE when your political leaders flippantly toss out comments about cover ups from the evil deep state. But at least try to use a good argument.
