I feel like assuming he pressured MGM is a big stretch. But I also think assuming he's pulling strings for Ballys is a bit of a stretch. But if he's done either, he's sure to tell us all about it before long.

The more believable thing to me is that mgm / EC are cheapos and every casino experience I have had with them supports that.. from borgata having no cashiers to empire city having vrt slots that don’t pay out.. to the rewards system being absolute trash.
So somehow the official story actually makes more sense. MGM needed capital investment requirements and weren’t willing to do it given the number of years on the license. They simply couldn’t take the risk of economic downturn and owing 500m.
It makes more sense than an already rich and powerful person going after more riches.
If trump got 300m from AIPAC does 110m from this deal even matter at this point? Literally people handing him money why would he need or want to mess that up by strong arming mgm?
Don’t get me wrong I love a good conspiracy and would find it highly entertaining if trump somehow did this and it came out. But it just doesn’t really past the smell test.
Plus people have this weird obsession with hating trump even though we know all politicians and people in power are puppets or front men for shadowy government.

Do you follow the news? Have you seen how many people have bowed to Trump the past few months? FFS, Trump is not beneath selling watches in Newsmax infomercials to make what probably is pennies for his finances. No profit opportunity is beneath him.
Having said that, I am as anti-Trump as anyone and I try to be skeptical just because it flatters my priors so much.
I just think something doesn't make sense, and what they've said doesn't add up, so Trump getting involved is the most obvious thing that could've happened.

What? The main reason super-rich people are so rich is because they NEVER stop going after more riches. Many of us, if we had something like $100M would retire and spend the rest of our life just traveling the world and enjoying ourselves. But billionaires aren't built like us. To them, amassing more wealth is like a game. A game they feel they have to "win".

Could easily be them still raging over losing. Also have no idea how they would sway the CAC. But if we want to play conspiracy speculation, EC gets pushed to withdraw so less than 3 go out, to give time for someone to figure a way to force Times Square—crazier things have happened

I think, for now at least, the two set in stone things are Resorts World and Citi Field. #3 is completely up for grabs and not a certainty

How is it dirty? Certainly not dirtier than other money he has made at times.
He sold the lease rights with an additional contingency. Even if he cut a deal to get competitor to back out, that isn’t really dirty. Now if he uses office to force them out it gets dirty. But other than unsupported conjecture from people here who don’t like him anyway there is no evidence of that.

Here’s something I don’t understand, if Resorts World has the option to redact all documents, why don’t the other proposals do that also? Or vice versa, if there’s a benefit to not redacting, why is Resorts World doing it?
Argument seems outright silly. I agree that the lack of a Manhattan casino makes the three casinos more akin to regional casinos than an international gambling destination (sad face.) But if there was a casino in Manhattan, it’s not like national and international travelers were gonna come to the city to gamble, and then travel up to Yonkers just to check out another casino

Yeah, it *has* to be there. Cannot even imagine the amount of fees they would need to be charged not to be able to cover it with price given the natural demand for a Manhattan casino.
