The murder of Charlie Kirk
Can we all admit that the majority of extremism is coming from the left over the last handful of years?

I think that "post-racial society" is a noble cause but you will likely have to be a bit further removed from oppressive racial systems before the people forgive/forget. People are still alive who lived it. People are currently alive actively living it.I was talking Friday with my Indian (US citizen) co-worker who had a manger say "your kind" to him just ~20 years ago. I've
Yes, we’re not in a post-racial society and we may never be. I don’t want to speak for anyone and who they are afraid of. I will say that in India, the hindu majority hates muslims, and the entirety of the country hates China. If we’re talking about the most important racial divisions for them, that’s what we would point to.
Yes, they may also feel racial hatred from whites, but globally there are huge racial problems there.
Hate crimes against asians can and do come from… black people. That doesn’t mean white racism isn’t a problem.
We’re talking about a disordered and ugly way of thinking, which is racism. It can come from and be directed towards many groups, not just to the historically marginalized from the historical majority.

In the US, historically speaking, violent racism comes from white people.
In the US, I don't think its fair to expect black people, as a whole, to magically not be racist when all they know is racism
Yeah, I think its fair for Jewish people to be a bit paranoid and resentful.
I've said before that I think there is some trauma reenactment going on with Israel for instance
I just like the gif
Thank god we have someone in the forum to advocate for men’s rights and whites only spaces now that Luciom is gone
Nature abhors a vacuum

Part of why it doesn’t fade is that racism doesn’t just disappear; it adapts.
Racism is a way societies organize status. The dominant group builds a sense of natural entitlement ie the idea that its values, way of life, and authority are the default. When that position feels threatened, prejudice steps in to defend it. That’s why calling people racist doesn’t change much. You can swap out the faces or scold the attitudes, but the structure stays the same. Until that changes, the logic just finds new language to hide behind.
Back when racial hierarchy was acceptable, racism was blunt. But once equality became the public norm, it changed shape. The same hierarchy started defending itself with neutral-sounding language: “work ethic,” “law and order,” “individual responsibility.” Inequality got explained away as the natural result of effort or culture, by reframing it as merit based. (Charlie Kirk).
You can see the same thing playing out now. Trump didn’t invent resentment toward immigrants; he just gave it new language. The talk about “illegals” overrunning the country, draining resources, or changing American culture taps the same fear Blumer described decades ago: the dominant group is losing its place. It’s not about crime statistics or border policy so much as the feeling that status and control are slipping away. The rhetoric shifts, but the reflex is the same: defend the hierarchy, rebrand the language, call it law and order instead of race.
The pattern keeps repeating. When one excuse loses legitimacy, a new one takes its place. Because the real function isn’t hate; it’s protection of status. That’s why even without slurs, segregation, etc. the same divisions reappear under different names. Because the real function is protection of status.

There’s some sense I agree with you. I do think racists can signal to their kind using certain codes and talking points. That’s absolutely true.
On the flip side of it, they make you look crazy by trying to argue against things like “merit” and “law and order” and “individual responsibility”. Those things are actually still important and not just dogwhistles, though they can be.
Edit: I’m also not sure that I agree that racism is constantly reformulating. Like I said, I’m kind of an optimist on this issue, but I could be wrong.
Their claim is the other way around: Improve socio-economic conditions and the crime rate will fall and we won't need as many police or prisons. I don't think it's the whole truth but considering the socio-economic backgrounds of the people getting arrested and going to prison, there's certainly some truth to it.
Cause and effect is not arbitrary. Just because two things are associated does not mean you can make changes to the effect, and expect the cause to change. A society with greater equality* is eminently desirable, as it will likely reduce crime and as a consequence, reduce the need for prisons and policing.
However, thinking you can reduce policing and abolish prisons, and in turn that will lead to less crime and great equality is literally one of the stupidest arguments ever posted on 2+2, and I'm not at all surprised when people making this statement get laughed out of the tread.
*improving socio-economic conditions is much easier as you just increase overall wealth.

Totally agree. Who said that? Can you give me a quote?
If you can't I'd like to propose another candidate for dumbest post.
So again coordi, if there was a whites only sub would you not consider that old school racism?
These two things aren’t the same and your inability to understand this is what marks you out as lacking in self awareness.
In a world without the history of mass slavery and denial of civil rights to black people your simplistic view of all racism being equal would be true, but we don’t live in that world and if black people want to share common experiences with each other that white people don’t have because they’ve been relatively privileged it’s fine and you should try to understand the reasons for it instead of crying like a big spoilt baby about how it’s unfair because you can’t do the same with your white friends.
You don’t even get that politically, economically etc the US is and has been all about you and your white friends, and therefore you have no need of a subreddit.

I think of that more as white supremacy. But what I was referring to isn't really conscious in most people. As I said it just seems normal.
Edit: I’m also not sure that I agree that racism is constantly reformulating. Like I said, I’m kind of an optimist on this issue, but I could be wrong.
I don't know either. But the arguments are that it will only stop reformulating when it's no longer +EV to be white. Not having been anything before, if you're going to be born in the US, what color would you like your skin to be? I mean if all you could do is look at the data....

Poisoning the well/begging the question in one.

I already explained my reasons why this isn’t the case, and you’re an absolute ****** so I don’t feel like explaining it again to you.

I already explained why this doesn’t track onto how to solve the problems with racism, try to keep up.
Enjoy making more excuses for segregation and racism.
As I’ve said several times before, for someone who is so verbose on political matters you’re woefully ignorant on the fundamentals.

Man the Netanyahu lobby is awful ….always shooting them self in the foot and lying about others.
Tucker Carlson is a plague of conspiratorial poison that is destroying the Republican Party from the inside. Literally all he does is criticize Trump for being too friendly with Jews.
To the point one has to wonder if that is his actual goal, given his background in the deep state.
If I was a republican I would absolutely do everything in my power to get him out. And I would never donate a penny to any organization that invited him as a speaker.
Dropping TPUSA over associating with Carlson is probably the most ethical decision that particular donor has ever made. And a perfectly reasonable red line IMO.
I spend 90% of my energy in this forum criticizing progressivism and wokeness. But that being said, I would never vote any party Carlson is a part of.
So as long as things are as they are, either the democrats put up some acceptable candidates (to me) or I will not be voting very much in the near future.

If someone truly cares about merit--there are much bigger fish to fry wrt to who's been corrupting that ideal for ages before worrying about women&minorities who have been screwed the most over the years.

0 interest in changing your mind but the fact you believe this says all I need to know about you. Israeli propagandist doing what he does best.

I don’t know if you are a republican or a turning point USA supporter, or how closely you follow Tucker.
But starting about a year ago he went through this sudden transformation where he was standard MAGA and then he shifted to just criticizing Jews.
That is literally all he talks about. Nothing about immigration, or tariffs, or taxes, or Medicaid, or anything else really. It is 90% criticing Jews.
Which is his right. But if you were a right wing Jew why would you want to be associated with that? What is the upside?
Even Trump just keeps him at arms length and ignores him. Other than calling him crazy in a tweet when Tucker was criticizing him over Iran, I can’t remember her last time Trump addressed Tucker at all.

You guys are just constantly shadowboxxing things. Someone else brought up how those things are racist, not me. So you’re trying to imply I said women and minorities lack merit or something which I never said. Nice cheap shot though, +10 good white person points.
You guys are like the “pick me” women. Except what does it get you? You just get mocked as “performative males”. lol Even when you do what they tell you, you become even more reviled and disgusting to these people. So why even play the game? It’s better to just treat everyone as individuals and understand what the trends and risks actually are empirically, rather than through prisms of grand narratives like oppressor/oppressed, cisheteronormativity, white supremacy, etc.
That’s the point 😀

This is why folks despise Netanyahu. Nonstop lies and propaganda. Anyone can look at Carlson‘s YouTube channel and on a weekly basis he goes over a broad of range of topics….AI, religion, immigration, censorship, and much more.

And even if his last 10 videos were all about Israel who cares. Boy your something else so now it’s simply talking about Israel somehow translates into criticizing all Jews. Laughable.
Your types have alienated huge numbers of conservatives.
“Your racist bc I say so”
Good, **** racist conservatives who don’t like being called racist. They can argue it out with other racist conservatives who can recognize that being called a racist is undesirable while simply not being racist is an absolute non starter
