The murder of Charlie Kirk

Can we all admit that the majority of extremism is coming from the left over the last handful of years?

Apparently they j

….. Yes

I don’t believe such a thing exists and I doubt it can be defended seriously.

Okay, but this is part of the privilege and it’s dumb that you don’t see why.

That’s the beauty of being inside the bubble, you can just ignore everyone outside of it

Quite the response. A very specific and academically controversial topic is posited as an explanation for what privilege is, and the rest of us are supposed to take such an idea as a given.

Why should I take this theory over marxism, or CRT basic, or settler-colonial theory, or basically any one of the other discrete theories that lefties have posed?

And why shouldn’t I operate under other theories of social relations that are completely divorced from such ideas?

Nah, if I deny that this concept is useful it’s because I’m privileged.

So does that mean when Blair White or Candace Owens deny the theory they have good reason to? Oh right, they are aiding in cisheteronormativepatriarchal white supremacy.

So basically heads you win, tails I lose, and you will refuse to actually argue for your position.

Nothing like a room full of Americans arguing who enjoys more privilege.

I mean, it’s a pretty lucrative gig from what I hear..

so we’ve established that it doesn’t matter what group you belong to, you’re just wrong if you think such concepts are not defensible?

I’m not trying to harsh your mellow, crd. I want you to be a loud and proud cishet white dude! They are always the best people 😀

Of course I don’t think anyone that falls in that group is the best people, or that “cishet white men” are saints. The point is that it’s the one group of people that the left thinks that old school racism/sexism is acceptable towards.

But I appreciate your words of solidarity!

See, this is the problem with you. You dont actually have any first principles or moral integrity. You dont want to live in a more tolerant world.

You just want to live in a world where you get to be the one deciding who gets to be a prejudiced, insulting bigot.

A delusion so prevalent it’s bordering on group psychosis

Incredible projection lmao

Not really. Have you been to the subreddit “blackpeopletwitter” where they literally verify race to prevent whites and other races from posting on popular posts?

If reddit had a subreddit that even joked about doing that on whitepeopletwitter, what do you think the result of that would be?

That’s actual old school disgusting racism on one of the most visited social media websites.

Lmao

“These historically marginalized groups are employing context-driven strategies for equity, and since I am a cishet white dude this exclusion is obviously oppression in reverse because I am used to being able to go anywhere I want!”

So sad, smallest violins for crd and his buddies

I once tried to post in a black person only thread and when they found out I was white they came to my house and lynched me

So again coordi, if there was a whites only sub would you not consider that old school racism? How is this any different than a white kid calling someone a racial slur and arguing “it’s just words bro”?

Do you think that racial hatred online does not play out in racial hatred in real life?

I never called it oppression. I called it racism. Oppression is a term the left uses.

Excusing it as a “context-driven strategy for equity” and making it verboten to criticize is the exact type of excusing I know the left loves to do for racism against white people.

Next we’ll be defending “k*ll all men”, another phrase that spawned out of this point of view.

Again realize I’m talking about equality and you’re here defending segregation, but I’m being portrayed as the racist one.

Edit: Just to be clear, directionally you’re absolutely right about the point that white people have harmed minorities in this country using both legal and extra-legal means far far more than the other way around. But there shouldn’t be a racism ledger, it’s the exact wrong way to think about it.

by Crossnerd

You’re the group everyone needs protecting from

That’s not white privilege. That’s just how you feel about white people. White privilege means white people don’t need the protection others do, not that other people need protection from white people, lol.

What if they just limited it to people whos grandparents legally couldn't vote in 1964 even if they were a legal citizen?

White people have the KKK and the proud boys and all that. They probably have verified forums somewhere

Having a blacks only space might be racist but its certainly not the same as a white kid calling a black person a slur

While I don't think we owe black people reparations we certainly owe them something and a black person only subreddit certainly seems like a small price to pay for hundreds of years of civil rights atrocities

It is a funny joke until it isn't.

"I got that white bitch" I believe is how the saying goes.

Weird nonsequitur

Yeah, if we get really granular and we want to take all little bits of consequences in there, it certainly would have less of a racist effect to have a black only space, arguably. Only if it doesn’t lead to racial backlash, which I think it does.

The KKK, certainly, and the Proud Boys arguably. But then black people have the NoI and Black Israelites and other black supremacist groups.

The question is why do we making excuses for any of it? It’s all ludicrously unnecessary racism.

While I don't think we owe black people reparations we certainly owe them something and a black person only subreddit certainly seems like a small price to pay for hundreds of years of civil rights atrocities

Sure, if we compare anything to the biggest atrocities in history it’s going to seem small in comparison. But again I think the language of “price to pay” is the wrong way to think of things, for people like me that are optimistic about a post-racial society.

It could be that I’m just wrong and we will always have disconnected ethnic enclaves.

By the way, I don’t want to just be seen as attacking the black community here. Another thing that ends up happening is that whites enjoy playing out racism in safe ways, so they play out racism against their own kind, or Italians, Irish, Brits, White Women, etc. But then that’s just whites continuing to do racism, even if the targets are “safe for work”. I actually think that there is a lot of that going on that should also be condemned and called out.

I think that "post-racial society" is a noble cause but you will likely have to be a bit further removed from oppressive racial systems before the people forgive/forget.

People are still alive who lived it. People are currently alive actively living it.

I was talking Friday with my Indian (US citizen) co-worker who had a manger say "your kind" to him just ~20 years ago. I've talked in the past with a Korean co-worker who feels "unsafe" in the current political landscape. These aren't even black people
