President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
when fascism enter in the US in the near future at least u will be able to defend yourself and say i let it it in because i did vote for no one lol.
and then you will, hopefully, have a revelation when your facked....
"damn they were not the same" ...duh.
I don't know of anyone that is happy with the Dems as a whole right now. AFAIK their approval rating is lower than TrumpsBut this is where I was leading with "if we accept both sides murder children and cross that off the list, what is next?" because sending foreign aid to push soft power is certainly a more humanitarian approach than letting food aid spoil. So how deep do you
Omg... why are you such an idiot?
Of course Kamala would have stood in front of our troops and declared war on red rural America. Democrats would have had ICE agents in every city, tearing families apart. I can see Walz now declaring America a Christian nation, and demanding schools have the ten commandments in their classrooms. Dems would have slashed government subsidizes for mental health and blew up the CFPA. Massive tax cuts for the wealthy, while slashing medicare and medicaid, and so on... they are EXACTLY the same party. Why they even have different names, is beyond me.
Seriously... how TF cannot you not see this?
😉
Get punched in the face or punched in the stomach?
Stomach
That’s not relative goodness, it’s Sophie’s Choice: forced complicity in evil while under duress.
Distributed over a large enough group of people, preventing everyone from getting punched in the face would be a great thing, even if the secondary effect is getting punched in the stomach. It’s actually a good thing to prevent people from getting punched in the face, which overrides the overall badness of being punched in the stomach.
I mean maybe you’re someone that has a helmet on, or part of a group of people that wears helmets. And actually, it might hurt more for you to get punched in the stomach over being punched in the face. Well that sounds a lot like what voting actually entails a lot of the time.
Most of the negative effects of Trump’s presidency I don’t really feel, for instance. It actually mostly affects people who are not me. That’s another important modification I would make to the metaphor. Just because America gets punched in the face doesn’t mean I do.
Not that this makes me selfless or anything. While I’m not affected on my own person, I do know a lot of people who are, so in a way it also benefits me to not see them suffer.
Lastly just departing from the analogy a little bit, I’m not actually convinced that Democrats are even like getting punched in the stomach. I just accept the framing of lesser evil sometimes for the sake of understanding. I actually think that things would be going a lot better right now if Hillary was elected in 2016 or Kamala was elected in 2024. And this is not just better over the counterfactual, but just positively developing overall. Then again, I just share a lot of values with the Democratic party so maybe you see things differently.
Karoline Leavitt Says It’s OK to Target Americans Repped by Democrats -
The White House press secretary sees no problem with targeting Americans in the government shutdown.
Dems would have just done the same thing, like they always do. Again... this is stupid to even suggest there are any differences between the two parties.

On your other point, there is a difference. Biden and Obama were never democrats but they were right of center. Trump is an off the charts right wing lunatic. Of course that is from a world view perspective, which of course most undeducated American rural chimps have no idea what I'm even talking about.
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Malaysia, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen. Here’s a few. There’s even more and much much more which are surely preferable to you compared to the US, as long as you actually believe what you say.
Your alphabetical list of countries copied from a webpage is telling on you.

This problem gets a lot easier to unravel when you realize that on the political level staunch communism's main beef is rarely with fascism or Nazism, it is with centre-right and centre-left political ideologies like classical liberalism, American liberalism or social democracy.
This is for ideological reasons (the writings of Marx), cultural reasons (communism's historic rise in a Russian political culture which saw liberalism as western influence) and strategic reasons (fighting social democrats and other socialists for voters).
Occasionally, they'll take the time to brand these ideologies as fascism, because then it'll sound to their own ears like they are fighting the good fight. Exactly why Charles (39) who wants people around him to have human rights, be free of government oppression and have a good life is a fascist is anyone's guess, but I'm sure there is a Twitter thread somewhere which explains why people like him are actually worse than Hitler.
Individual exceptions apply. The far left is nothing if not fragmented.
Try again.
He was replying to someone who said you helped Trump win, then he said he didn't know you voted for Trump.
Obviously they both know you didn't vote for Trump, and no one claimed that you did.
This.
Kinda annoying to have to clarify , I guess I should have directly quoted the post in question but conversations have flows and victor was an active part in it.
I have seen quite a bit of chatter that one of the reasons for the gov shutdown is to stop a dem getting sworn in, which would change the numbers about a vote around releasing the Epstein files, and therefore get them released.
Not sure of the truth of this, or if it matters at this point - surely Trump has had everything redacted that involves Trump or GOPs/GOP funders/Trump friends.
Any thoughts on this?
Unlike you, when I say things, I look them up to make sure what I’m saying has some factual basis. Do you think I have a list of countries with no financial ties to Israel just sitting in the back of my head? Again, unlike you, this topic isn’t the entirety of my existence, which is another humorous aspect because you’re so uninformed on the one topic you’re obsessed with.
I think you have little or no idea of which countries you're talking about and where they sit geographically, politically or culturally without wiki, but plenty of Dunning-Kruger to make up for it.

You might want to just drop it lmao. You can’t even point out Israel or Gaza on a world map but you’re on me for what? For posting factual information from the internet? Either way, I don’t really care to derail another thread by entertaining your stupidity.
Don't be stupid, son.

I think trump is being quite transparent about all of this. It’s part of project 2025 and they want to harm democrats

surely there was a lot of incriminating stuff in there about Trump, GOPs, GOP funders, and Trump friends that Biden et al chose not to release during the election cycle.
Remember when trump was going to stop the weaponization of the justice department? Good times.
Days after being fired, the top national security prosecutor in Virginia’s eastern district taped a letter outside his former office accusing top Justice Department officials of being “more concerned” with going after President Donald Trump’s perceived enemies than protecting the country’s security.
The typed letter dated Friday and signed by Michael Ben’Ary said that as a prosecutor, he took an oath “that requires you to follow the facts and the law wherever they lead, free from fear or favor, and unhindered by political interference.”
“In recent months, the political leadership of the Department have violated these principles, jeopardizing our national security and making American citizens less safe,” he said.
Remember when trump didn't know anything about project 2025? Good times.
In a post on his Truth Social site Thursday morning, Trump announced he would be meeting with his budget chief, “Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent.”
The comments represented a dramatic about-face for Trump, who spent much of last year denouncing Project 2025, The Heritage Foundation’s massive proposed overhaul of the federal government, which was drafted by many of his longtime allies and current and former administration officials.
Hehe...
A statue of President Trump skipping hand-in-hand with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has returned to D.C.'s National Mall, over a week after it was abruptly removed in the pre-dawn hours.
Wait, trump did something that was unpopular? Say it isn't true.

The new survey found 59% of Republicans and 57% of “Make American Great Again” supporters favor extending the enhanced subsidies.
The nationally representative sample of 1,334 adults were asked whether they support extending the subsidies, not whether they support including them in budget negotiations. Whether to include them is a sticking point in the ongoing budget battle, with Democrats arguing they must be extended before open enrollment next month, when many enrollees will be shocked to find their premiums are increasing.
Overall, more than three-quarters of the public — 78% — say they want Congress to extend them. That includes 92% of Democrats and 82% of independents.
Can you say "witch hunt"?
After a two-month investigation, federal prosecutors in Virginia were unable to gather sufficient evidence to support bringing criminal charges against former FBI Director James Comey for allegedly lying to Congress, sources tell ABC News.
The prosecutors earlier this week summarized their findings -- that probable cause does not exist to secure an indictment, let alone a conviction at trial -- in a detailed declination memo for Lindsey Halligan, President Donald Trump's newly appointed U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, sources said.
Nevertheless, sources say Halligan plans to ask a grand jury in the coming days to indict Comey, escalating Trump's unprecedented directive to prosecute some of his political adversaries.

What the stupidity of maga dont get is , if they can convict someone like the head of the FBI by pure political shenanigans , imagine what they can do afterward to anyone else ….
Where the stupidity rest ?
In the belief that because TODAY you are on the right side of trump , it might not always be this way and then what ??
You are facked because indicting an ex head of fbi is probably much harder then your little a$$ ….
Again :
First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Social Democrats, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Social Democrat.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
It all started with illegal immigrants but those maga dont seem to see how the list getting longer and longer ….
One day they will get on it .

I get what you’re saying about scaling harm across the population and how preventing the worst outcomes can be seen as a good thing. And I get that for people who share a lot of the Democrats’ values, it doesn’t even feel like a stomach punch but more it feels like progress. And sure plenty of people are super supportive of their candidates eg Bernie and Trump.
But the point I’ve been trying to make is different. I don’t come away from my vote feeling pro-candidate. I don’t see myself as endorsing them or their platform so much as picking the one I find least despicable. That’s why the whole framing of "relative goodness" doesn’t sit right with me... because my stomach still hurts from the punch.
And part of why I feel that way is because of how the DNC has handled its candidates. Obama had to bust the ranks to get through, and since then it feels like we’ve been handed people because it was their turn or time for a woman POTUS. That logic gave us two failed female nominees and an old guy with dementia, which indirectly gave us two terms of Trump. I think we can do less worse ; ). If a revolution of sorts comes, I don’t think it’ll be at the top level it’ll be at the party level, the way Trump took over the Republican Party.

I was expecting the Progressives to be out in force protesting all that. I think Trump was too, that's why the over-the-top show of force.
One day they will get on it .
Careful, Canada. like every Western democracy, your own mini-me Trump is waiting in the wings. Trump isn’t the cause; he’s the blowback effect of trying to silence or cancel people instead of changing their minds.
But I don't think Trump is some omnipotent power behind all that. Like with Palestine. I think, the only difference between what Trump is saying and doing in support of Israel and what a lot of other world leaders and powers and people think is that Trump isn't lying. I think that's true of a lot of Democratic stronghold states, too, as well as plenty of people who either voted for him or didn't vote for Harris.
