The murder of Charlie Kirk
Can we all admit that the majority of extremism is coming from the left over the last handful of years?
Apparently they j
I remember him saying that he wasn't sure what he thought about trans women in college sports. I'm pretty sure he never said he supported them being in the women's changing rooms. But I guess we'll see if anyone defends that now.
As someone who was heavily involved in this conversation at various times in this forum your take is a lot closer to reality than lozen's (quelle surprise). I don't think anyone in the forum ever had a hardline stance on trans participation in high level sport - I think I might remember Bryce having been closest but that was coming from an angle of not really caring about competitive sport at all (if my recollection is incorrect I apologise). It was always acknowledged that sharing locker rooms was a potential issue but mostly it was a side issue to the main arguments being had about the subject, in no small part because people like lozen would make it very difficult to keep on point by deliberately misgendering people (certainly Thomas), causing the arguments to diverge into arguing about that instead.
They'd say things like "once it gets competitive" then they shouldn't participate without giving any details. When pressed, they'd draw the line at "professional" or "elite college".
I'm not sure what your point is. That is quite explicitly not taking a hardline on trans inclusion in high level sports, in fact it's quite explicitly saying that they are ok with trans women being excluded from them once the level of competition is high enough. It's certainly the case that there were debates about lower levels and where the line should be drawn in terms of weighting inclusion vs fairness of competition (from a quick look back it seems the closest thing to a consensus among pro-trans posters actually tended to be upper high school rather than college) but I'm not aware of anyone in this forum who has ever argued for no restrictions at all (i.e. taken a hardline about it).
Pretty much everyone on the left said the same thing about high level sports: defer to the experts. Which is generally how the world works
I certainly know that deferring to emotionally stunted perpetually online ******s wasn’t the right choice but here we are

The main question is whether we need politicians and culture warriors involved or can women’s sports leagues and organizations who actually care about women’s sports dispassionately do what’s best for them without getting uktra emotive bros who think some of the individuals involved are an ”abomination to god” involved.
I hear this take so often, as if it’s some sort of rampant epidemic. What actual percentage of men do you think are doing this?
Entirely irrelevant. The fact Lia Thomas was allowed to do it is too much already.

We should definitely debate this again so you can continue to ignore any and all evidence that doesn't support your stance and Luciom can post paragraphs of never ending word salads.

Aghh sadly I consistently referred to Lia Thomas by her pronouns and her taken name. I disagreed with her competing and sharing locker rooms. So please show were I misgendered her. As well if I had back in those days it got you banned or even talking about it being a mental health issue I remember the conversation on locker rooms and there was more folks here that thought that was OK . Uke was one of them but yes he did acknowledge that he differs to the so called experts .
Reality is from Junior high on Biological men do not belong in women's sports and never should be in the locker rooms

Except when the leagues and organizations decide to not allow biological men to compete, violent left wing activists and activist politicians intimidate and attack them.
and there should be none . I love how the left uses well its only a small % . Imagine if a Pro lifer says Well its only a small % of women that die because they cant get the surgery
If its so fair why are there no women that think they are men competing in Men's athletics and crushing the competition
We aren’t talking about life or death we are talking about volleyball

I would say it's pretty reasonable that someone dying is considered more important than a trans person competing in an NCAA swim meet.
It’s kind of ironic that one of the most successful female athletes of all time is Riley Gaines and her claim to fame is tying with a trans person
More upward mobility from that than professional sports because all these guys who are incredibly passionate about protecting the sanctity of women’s sports would rather type out rants on the internet than watch women’s sports
It should be 0.

Careful, you're injecting logic into a debate that's entirely feels driven.

Here we go again. ''You don't watch Riley Gaines swim therefore you shouldn't be against biological men competing against her''
It would be more logical if there were a bunch of trans women crushing competition but that number is like 1.5 trans women who crushed

You didn't even have the respect to get her name right, let alone use the correct pronouns:
You believe what you want .
Leah Thomas is a cheat and his records are garbage .
His lack of respect for the woman in the locker rooms is disgusting as is the fact he doesn't realize he is disrespecting women by competing against them .
When Rile Gaines shoes the courage to speak out the response is violence to her that is disgusting
Respect is a two way street . I'll treat any trans gender individual with respect when they do the same towards women. You actually think Leah Thomas believes it's a fair competitionNot a chance he is a cheat and what he does hurts the Trans movement. The problem is folks are scared to speak out .You keep believing in your trans religion . You keep believing in mutilating and c
Blatant dishonesty is Leah believing he is a female athlete .
Dishonesty is removing the NCAA records from the women that achieved them
Dishonesty is taking the spot from an athlete that lost out on the opportunity to be all American because Leah knocked her out of the top 16.
When you knowingly disrespect the sport and women's rights I will not respect you

Yeah man, it’s obvious that you care about exerting power over something ideological than about any individual outcome
It’s extremely weird. You probably don’t have much control in your own life
See you picked the leftist leaning post on the internet
Its 46 at the college level and way more in state and provincial sports

"Out of over 500,000 student-athletes attending NCAA schools, fewer than 10 are transgender, NCAA President Charlie Baker said during a congressional hearing in December. "

Can you please learn to read better and get back to me on this.

Aah yes anytime there's no backing up a nonsensical statement the armchair psychologist comes out.
Clearly those who have no control in their lives are the only ones who think a man swimming against women is wrong.
Get a grip little man.
