Sure, there are some people for whom carrying a gun could be useful for protection. Those people who are going somewhere looking for trouble.
Others either should stay away from the situations where they they will need protection or realize that carrying a gun actually makes them more likely to get injured or killed.

I suppose it can be right at times, but does it work to fix things? in italy we do keep dialogues open with the opposition regularly, there can easily be overlapping themes we can agree upon even if we strongly disagree on a lot of other stuff.
Random example people on the left here did better for public transport and trash collection in the cities they governed, and rightwing-led cities learnt from them and acknowledged some strategies and approaches worked better and started doing the same.
That's real life in democracy, what plan do you have to deal with real life politics if you really think "there is no reasoning with them", and "them" is half of the country that bothers to vote?
