I would disagree there. Fuentes is a seminal figure on the Right. Kirk was just the social media equivalent of being "good on tv" and was not really as much of a leader. There are lots of Kirks and no other of Fuentes. You don't see politicians as big as Vance acting like the need Kirk's approval, but they are desperate for Fuentes's approval. Why would they 'need' the approval of a guy who is paid to be a supporter and has followers that will do whatever the tv/trump tells them? I’m willing to discuss the potential for copycat crimes but not when the causal chain is speculative and politically motivated.
“People on the left are celebrating, therefore more lefties will now go commit the same crime” is not grounded in evidence. Neither are copycat crimes that simple or predictable. They are rare and complex.
I’m not going to go along with what is very overtly an attempt to exploit fear for the sake of a political narrative and agenda. There is no proven link between celebration or criticism and copycat crime.
