Honestly surprised we were able to do as much as we did as we have a **** cash position at the moment, so a lot of the deals will likely have had to have delayed payment terms which obvs isn't as attractive to sellers.
but we added:
Danso / Tel made permanent (has to count vs budget etc)
Palhinha / Muani on loan
Simons
Kudus
Vuskovic (was already signed but officially happened / money at least partially moved)
Takai
Don't think that's nothing, we also offloaded Gil and Hojbjerg (yes really) permanently.
Would have liked to see:
- another full back come in (Spence Porro Udogie can all be good but need more cover there, assuming Gray plays CM/CB)
- another first team ready CB, depending on how ready Vuskovic and Takai are
- obvs we needed a ten, maybe that is Simons, who knows
I suspect we aren't going to slow down spending in the next 12 months but I've been wrong before.

He never made it there. I'm honestly not sure why people ever thought Onana was good. He had 1 good champions league season playing for an Inter side that was defensively amazing.

I certainly agree with this but definitely don't think Onana ever was a ''top european'' goalie. Not even close.
He isnt, the last they had was De Gea

Onana has a real fascination with getting beat near post.
Always worth remembering that with manager sackings:
- The payout only lasts as long as the manager is unemployed
- The contract usually stipulates that the manager has to be (demonstrably) looking for work
- In practice, when a new job comes along (often paid worse than the "payout" they received from the last club), the three parties will put their heads together and agree on something
- Oftentimes, fees for sacking managers will include the core team of coaches that go with them.

This is all really interesting…the first is something I asked about a few days ago, but the rest is all new (but makes sense).
In regards to point two, I’ve always wondered about the ins and outs of the application/interview process goes for managers and coaches. I assume once you reach a certain level, it’s very “inner circle,” and they kind of just wait for a call or send out feelers themselves about developing situations.
It’s kind of funny to think about Chelsea or the FA or whoever hounding Graham Potter to make sure he’s “actively looking for work” after his payoff.
In regards to the last point, and just as a whole, I saw a graphic going around about the payout sums over Mourinho’s career of all his sackings (10m I think it was?) and it made me wonder again why he has been taking some of these jobs where his reputation continues to slip and he seems mostly miserable coaching but I guess he probably just needs the income like the rest of us.

Of course it makes sense. Would you as an employer want the terminated employee to have the right to sit around doing absolutely nothing and getting paid, not even looking for work (knowing that if they find work you stop paying it)?
Would wager it's hard to prove and also you can't FORCE someone to take a job, but the concept itself makes perfect sense here.
