Personally thought it was awful. Bournemouth go there and score 2. We can’t even get 2 shots on target. This has always been one of the very few problems I have with Arteta. He is not brave in big games.

If I had any complaints it would be they probably should bring on eze at half for martinelli.

Both teams played incredibly well defensively. The arsenal were too conservative analysis is a little overblown even if there is some truth to it. Lets not forget liverpool at anfield vs an arsenal team missing 3 starting attackers, and their star cb getting injured in the first few minutes only put up .45 xg. Pretty pathetic for a team who already spent 230m something on starting attackers this summer, when you're playing at home. Sometimes you get lucky and a dude scores a once a season screamer from a 30 yd fk.

I mean what would you expect if liverpool were going to the emirates missing salah/wirtz/ekitike(before isak xferred in)/vvd? Both teams basically played for a draw and played with a high measure of respect for the others ability. Both teams did everything they could to make sure they didnt make mistakes that would cost them the game.

Hell we've seen liverpool go to the emirates missing just salah in 23-24 and get absolutely curb stomped 3-1 (which was an extremely flattering scoreline, 4/5-0 would of been more representative of the play in that game).

I don't think this changes my priors much in that liverpool are going to be worse than last year (albeit isak should improve them), and that arsenal if fit (LOL i know) are the best team in the league.

I saw Liverpool go to the Emirates that same year 23-24 without Salah and Van Dyke against a full Arsenal squad and win 2-0. Kudos to your selective memory ability of course.

At the end of the day you either win or you lose and supporters of teams who havent won trophies in the longest times usually are the ones who stray from that concept.
