I think Israel would be way better off if they had done it that way than these past two years.

Hmm...though maybe that does explain things a bit. Netanyahu didn't want to be arrested / executed for going whole hog so he decided against it, despite the fact that it would have been better for Israel. That's definitely possible. I don't know him well enough to know if he's like our dear leader Trump in that he cares about himself (and immediate family) far more than about everyone else in his country combined.

All displays of nudity in fictional TV and film are unnecessary?? What? I mean, all TV and film is technically unnecessary, but nudity is no more or less unnecessary than, say color, sound, or lord, anything else.

Then it could be argued that just about anything is unnecessary. Nudity has artistic merit. Removing it from Eyes Wide Shut or Boogie Nights would be crazy, and the quality of those films would decline because of it, but it's also useful in movies that aren't based around sex. A film going for realism, for example, could show nudity if a husband and wife are talking in the bedroom while one of them is changing and getting ready for work. This idea that nudity should be some big no no is rather silly.
