It started with some people on the internet watching the ad and (correctly) noting that "blonde hair and blue eyes genetics" is what the Nazi's lauded as supreme genetics
Nobody (or any significant number) called Sydney a Nazi, a white supremacist, a racist, or promoting eugenics. There were some accusations thrown at American Eagle. You know, the company actually doing all these things.

It's an aspect of it, but feeling stronger and more confident is also a defining quality and clearly implied when most people talk about empowerment. When it comes to women in porn, it usually has the opposite effect.

But as it would relate to how a (largely younger) subset of people who have are unable to live with optimism of financial security and where their rights are being taken away, money / fame / self employment / doing something in opposition to those who you could see as harming that optimism (the right) could all seem like really empowering things
I would think the industry is too young to 1:1 to how damaging managing your own content is with being in the regular porn industry, but the advantages being able to create content on your own and taking a greater portion of your revenue would alleviate a lot of the exploitation that goes on while bringing unique new problems of its own

Eh, pretty much everything on social media and coming from popular political influencers unhinged. A lot of it is bots. The whole "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring" thing is bizarre and unsettling. Even more so when the president tweets about it. A negative response is justified but not worth getting caught up in. It's not surprising. He's been increasingly provocative and gaslighting the public for a while now.
For as much leftist stuff I read on a daily basis, I have seen precisely zero people calling Sydney Sweeney a nazi, and definitely zero people saying she's out of line for getting her bag based on her sex appeal. I've seen some people saying the ads smack of eugenics, which they clearly do (no controversy there), but absolutely nothing compared to the moronically hyper-vitriol of conservatives whining about it. It's just silly how gullible they are to buy this crap. No shock inso and victor ate it up so completely, though.
Hard not to notice that their evidence that it happened the way they think it happened was articles telling them how it happened rather than it actually happening.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the Trump team was responsible for the ad. There's a possibility that it's just opportunism, but the chance that it's former is more likely if I had to guess.

The jeans/genes double entendre thing is probably always going to get some people riled up because they're too tightly wound. But the right is so thirsty to pounce on any kinda reaction and blow it up way out of proportion too. It's hard not to think that the media isn't milking it for all it's worth any way they can. I think your response is part of the reason they misspell words, capitalize adverbs and put commas in the wrong place. It makes people like me feel crazy. Of course his team notices the errors. Some of the errors come directly from them. And most of us notice the errors, but when someone like me brings them up, the response is that he's just a clown and that there's no sensible reason to do it on purpose. Or "Who cares? It's just a tweet." We're inundated with lies, absurd rants, misspelled words and everything in between, and everyone is either so caught up with being on team MAGA that they're in denial about how insane it is for the White House to post a video titled "ASMR Deportation" with a video of handcuffs clicking and chains clanking as immigrants are boarded onto a plane, or they're just confused by it. They wanted illegal immigrants to be deported but "this is a bit much." The news doesn't really explore the topic. Trump's detractors just argue that he's stupid, end of story. The lies, cruelty and strangeness becomes the norm, and we just grow to accept how crazy it all is and after a while, no one knows what to think.
