American culture the last 150 years hasn't been about aligning of values, its been about endless expansionism through immigration integration and the friction this causes being the energy that motivates people to succeed. There has been a rapid shift towards more nihilistic world views as we reach a decade of endless pathological bombardment mixed with a slowly dimming reality

Well, most of the bot slop is from places like Pakistan, China and Russia; either performed directly by the state or with the state's blessing. With the express purpose of weakening Westen society. So in a way you could argue the goal of the bot slop is to bring global equity by bringing Western Civilization down to the level of these other places.

That's not Inso0. Inso0 is a conservative who finally got tired of Trump.

Ins0 supports Trump but realizes it's declasse to do so, so we get this recurring bit of theater where he swears he doesn't support Trump but still apologizes for any and all MAGA policies, including injecting religious indoctrination in public schools (see above).

The indoctrination in question:

You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make idols.
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet.

I'm okay with swapping to one of the other flavors if that helps:

Don’t lie (22:30)
Don’t spy (49:12)
Don’t exult (28:76)
Don’t insult (49:11)

Don’t sit with those who mock religion until they change the subject (4:140)
Say it’s not appropriate to talk of slander when it’s mentioned to you (24:16)
If required to ask the Prophet’s wives, then do so from behind a screen (33:53)
Divorce in an amicable manner instead of keeping & harming your wife (2:231)
Punish in an equivalent manner to how you were harmed or be patient (16:126)
Differences in color & language are signs of Allah, not means of superiority (49:13)

It's a much harder list to memorize, but I'm all for it.

He didn't say poor, he said red.

I wouldn't have responded at all if he'd just said poor instead of turning it into red v blue. The more time we waste on red v blue, the worse it gets.

If we want to fix American education, you need to realign our values. Caring about learning isn't a red v blue problem.

this so much

we have an absurd politicization and when there is a rebuttal to that it goes full circle to "nuh uh that's an absurd politicization you magatard"

by coordi

Of the top 12 school districts in the state, its 7-5 blue districts vs red and none of the red districts are rural, just typical white flight suburbia that is overwhelmingly benefiting from liberal policies

so what he says does exist (but now with a reason for it that gels with your worldview) but just a post earlier you pretended it didn't

be better than this coord

They're very keen on helping the poors, as long as they stay on their side of the tracks and out of sight, and if that help comes in the form of strongly-worded rants on Facebook or wherever they hang out.

this sums up the wealthy districts of seattle to a tee

When 2/3 of Oklahoma high schools don't offer calculus and the state is using their meager funds to fight court cases to mandate displaying the 10 commandments, caring about learning is clearly a red/blue problem. Obviously rural culture and values are a big part of the reason why their educational results are so poor.

we've called out your lies on this earlier - so not surprising you figured it was ok to just wait a few months and try to again paint the lack of calculus as unique to oklahoma and other red states

the national average is about 50% and it's more tied to the size of the school than anything else but it's definitely not divided by blue and red

I took calc in one of the public high schools on Coordi's list of best districts because my private, Lutheran K-8 grade school had me in HS junior-level math by the end of 7th grade and I tested out of much of the standard path.

But I did have to attend a 30 minute chapel service every Wednesday morning, and we sang "Jesus Loves You" in kindergarten, so... burn it all to the ground.

And which class u believe should be abolished to learn that ?
I suppose it will replace some class instead of adding 1h « daily/weekly » of school ?

Ps: a « civility » course of our present time could be as good as a « civility » course dating 2000 years ago shrug .
But I guess the freedom of not having religion or have another religion isn’t something very important for the America taliban freedom fighter ….

El Salvadorean opposition declare democracy is dead as Nayib Bukele aka "The world's coolest dictator" (according to himself) and lover of crypto, scraps that bothersome presidential limits thingy, so he can run for Prez an unlimited amount of times, which of course he has no intention of doing, trust me bro. It also extends the presidency from five years to six and is calling the scheduled election for 2029 to 2027 because why tf not. Also scraps the second round for elections because who needs that crap- nobody that's who.

I for one don't see this turning out badly at all...

It's never that simple. It's the red districts in my blue state that have the good school districts. The bluest blue districts are FUBAR and really just exist as a holding pen until we can shuttle all these kids off to prison and/or a life of government cheese when they turn 18.What were once solid red districts with excellent scores are slowly having more blues bused in and ge

My post was countering the claim that its just red districts with good schools which is the point I was making with 7 of the top 12 school districts being in Blue districts

his claim was refuting that it was red/blue though - call out the nonsense he was responding to as well then

Coordi never provided his exact methodology for determining red v blue, but I assume Whitefolks Bay is one of those listed "best districts" he used in the blue column based on their state representatives, and he's not wrong, but that entire district only serves 2500 kids in total from 4K through 12th grade. I bet a bunch of you went to a high school with that many kids. Meanwhile, MPS next door has 70k+ students who can barely spell their own name by the time they've been given a diploma and have been governed exclusively by democrats for more than a century, while also soaking up the highest per-pupil spending figures in our state for however long.

So, okay, fine, I shouldn't have left zero room for nuance in my initial statement, but let's not pretend like bad educational outcomes are exclusively a backwoods republican bible-thumper problem as the original post I responded to implied.

Dems, if you care so much about poor brown people, then maybe change your tactics up a bit in the areas where you have complete and unopposed control of policy. What you're doing now ain't working.

FWIW I believe there isn’t only Republican (or conservative in Canada) that live in those rural region .
But the conclusion still remain the same shrug .

Lack of worthwhile education orifices bad outcomes in many aspect of life .
To believe having an education do not help to make better enlightened decisions makes no sense to me….
Regardless being left ur right , liberal or conservative.

If we zoom out and look at states all red states are worst in terms of human development index which measures life expectency, education, and income:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_...

We don't know exactly why, but there are plenty of interesting recent studies like what Kansas tried to understand the result of antihuman policies.

Do you really have to ask? Of all the things they don't care about, this is pretty minor.

Seems like the Republicans do care about it, as they want to make sure that Trump isn't included.

When 2/3 of Oklahoma high schools don't offer calculus

Is this right? Many high schools don't teach calculus at any age?

by Inso0

I couldn't easily find statewide stats....

Oklahoma Schools Ranked 50th

Various methodologies produce slightly different results, but Oklahoma in the bottom 5 looks to be be pretty robust.

Rurals lacking access to decent math classes is also easy to confirm

https://oklahomawatch.org/2016/12/22/par...

What irks me is that you guys focus on something so innocuous as a fight about a statue depicting the ten commandments as if the schools are replacing science class with Christian bible study.

Doesn't seem like you know what's going on.

Every classroom in the state from grades 5 through 12 must have a Bible and all teachers must teach from the Bible in the classroom, Walters said. The Oklahoma memorandum follows a law in Louisiana passed June 19, that requires all public classrooms to display the Ten Commandments
https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/27/us/okla...

That quote is from the elected superintendent of one of the worst school systems in the nation. You say it's not red vs blue, but "realigning our values". Well sorry, the former is not really true when one of the worst states for education is voting for far right virtue signaling in schools rather than even trying to improve education.

Don’t remain in the Prophet’s home unnecessarily after a meal (33:53)

That's one of the most infamous/hilarious teachings in Islam. Muhammad has a party and most people leave soon after, but after 3 days some of his friends are still there. On the fourth day Muhammad gets a revelation from the creator of the universe that you shouldn't linger specifically at Muhammed's house after a feast! It's like Larry David co-wrote a Hadith.

Yousef, if it was up to me you could stay as long as you want!!! But I don't control what Allah reveals!!

The Arkansas double murder which was apparently random but also premeditated (he allegedly had tape covering his license plate) is super bizarre.

A guy who looks seriously mentally disturbed is also a school teacher who sets out to stab some people to death.

Most of you guys probably aren't tuned into the right wing social media space. But there is some serious infighting and meltdowns going on right now. With the biggest being Tucker and Fuentes going after each other, basically calling each other Feds/CIA.

And we are only a little more than 6 months into Trump's presidency. Really hard to see how this thing survives another 3.5 years.

Tucker has actually admitted his dad was in the CIA, and as a young man he even applied for the CIA and was supposedly turned down. So do with that information as you will.

Of course IF Tucker is CIA, it is hard to imagine who in the deep state he is representing, unless the goal specifically is to fracture the far right from within.

This incarnation of Tucker is focusing mainly on foreign affairs, and arguing we should be making peace with Russia and Iran on their terms, and treat Ukraine, Israel, and more generally Jews as enemies. Hard to imagine what faction in the federal govt would be in support of this argument.

DNA and a confession. He's screwed. He should probably cut a deal and plead guilty to avoid a potential death penalty or try cop an insanity plea, which probably wouldn't be successful due to the covered licence plate.
