😀 That is particularly exceptional.

right, like I said. glad we got that cleared up.

The fact that you think you not even understanding the structure of the conversation is a gotcha is hysterical.

The next place just needs to be a law office, or a bail bondsman, or just an actual jail.

by coordi

Seems like something bad was going on around the game, like human trafficking

Or its a favor for the Israeli government because a bunch of Israeli criminals are part of the indictment

There were no charges related to human trafficking.

by Rococo

There were no charges related to human trafficking.

I guess its normal to bring heavy handed charges and settle for less. Is your opinion that collecting the rake will be the most severe charges?

As everybody knows, NASA hired Stanley Kubrick to fake the Moon landing. But he couldn't get the effects he wanted in the studio, so they had to shoot on location.

They filmed some in outer space.

reduction of power, states rights, etc etc

by Rococo

LOL Gilbert Arenas, and LOL DOJ for having nothing better to do.

Poker is a serious crime. People who actually understand the law know this.

Cavemen yelling at communists.
Americans are really stuck.

Yeah and the department of education is doing such a great job . Education should be a state controlled item

It is, df. The DoE primarily provides funding.

Hawley is horrible, but this is a good thing. Of course, the republicans want an exception for trump, and are opposed to it in general.

https://apnews.com/article/trump-hawley-...

GOP senators had been working with the White House on the stock trade bill, and some supported a broad carve-out to exclude the president from the ban, but it failed, with Hawley joining Democrats to block it. Trump complained that Hawley joined with Democrats to block another amendment that would have investigated the stock trades of Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the speaker emerita, and her spouse. Paul Pelosi has been a much-watched trader, but Pelosi’s office said she personally does not own stock.

The DOE was doing a better job than the state of Mississippi was.

The DOJ normally has its ducks in a row when it does something like this and there no charges of human trafficking in the indictment. I don't know which of the actual charges carries the heaviest penalty, but I wouldn't expect human trafficking to get added at this juncture.

And you need 4000 employees to do that

I think its fair to say the whole education system in the USA sucks unless you have the cash for private schools.

by lozen

Yeah 4000 employees that support 140,000 schools and 77,000,000 students

I get scale is hard but that’s a pretty good ratio

by lozen

And you need 4000 employees to do that

Yes? Do you think it's a small job? Good lord.

by lozen

In red states, yes. Wonder why.

Why do you think they need the money, lozen what is the money paying for --think about it really hard.

States do control education. And rural and conservative parts of the US have some of the lowest educatatonal achievement in the developed world.

It's never that simple.

It's the red districts in my blue state that have the good school districts. The bluest blue districts are FUBAR and really just exist as a holding pen until we can shuttle all these kids off to prison and/or a life of government cheese when they turn 18.

What were once solid red districts with excellent scores are slowly having more blues bused in and get worse every year. Violence and disobedience is on the rise and these suburban schools are struggling to figure out how to solve it.

That would be the location required, as would the actual surface of the Moon. (Jesus Christ, it's like pulling teeth.)

LOL at "blues" getting bused in. Just say what you want to say.

For better or worse, public school quality is highly correlated with wealth. If you live in a community that is wealthy, the public schools in your immediate vicinity.are probably pretty good. If you live in a community where a huge percentage of people are struggling, the public schools are likely to reflect that struggle. There are hundreds of exceptions, but the correlation is nevertheless strong.

eda is correct that states have always played a much larger role in public education than the federal government. Publics schools in red states like Missisissippi and Alabama often are not great because those states are poor. Sure, if you live in Mountainbrook (a wealthy community in the Birmingham metro area), the public schools will be excellent, but most people in poor states don't live in those communities. And when you combine limited resources with what I will charitably describe (at least at the state level) as a "lift yourself up by the bootstraps" mentality, you get what you get.

He didn't say poor, he said red.

I wouldn't have responded at all if he'd just said poor instead of turning it into red v blue. The more time we waste on red v blue, the worse it gets.

If we want to fix American education, you need to realign our values. Caring about learning isn't a red v blue problem.

Remember, this guy is supposedly a liberal that has been pushed to the right by the intolerant left. lol

I decided to do some crosschecking between niche.com school district ratings with ballotpedia.org voting districts and was able to confirm that you are talking out your ass
